This place is horrible and have really bad customer service .There was no parking outside the restaurant so when we had arrived we phoned the restaurant informing them we would be a bit late as we had to find parking and that we were stuck in lots of traffic right outside the restaurant which he could see and he said ok.When we arrived at the restaurant after parking 10 mins away the manager immediately told us that although we phoned to tell them that we were going to be late , that we were too late and that they needed the table back 45 minutes later. We said that we appreciate it and don’t need the table for too long and understand and we will be finished before the next booking . He then said that we could only order a main meal each we still said that’s fine as we were late. When we got to our table , we were greeted by a friendly waitress who told us to take our time to order which we appreciated after being rushed by the man who greeted us at the door. However after she went the man came another 2 times and told us to order straight away as we were sitting down and should order for the two people who were coming back from parking the car .Feeling really rushed and no longer in the mood to eat and felt embarrassed as he continuously reminded us we were late infront of everyone and the other tables looking and listening which is infuriating because as we have to pay we should be able to order a meal properly . This is clearly a money making scheme and they have zero regard for customer satisfaction. We decided to leave after telling the kind waitress that she was really nice and that the manager was really rude . Instead of making it an embarrassing and uncomfortable situation he should have refused reservation . Overall this restaurant has really bad customer service and be warned that it is a tiny restaurant with zero space for parking so be sure to arrive an hour early and prepared to walk ten minutes so the...
Read moreI would consider myself as somewhat of a curry connoisseur. I have been eating restaurant & takeaway curries for around 35 years on a weekly basis. Sometimes several times a week and from all over the UK. It’s really hard to find a decent curry these days as most are looking to keep costs down which equates to poor quality ingredients, and not many spices used meaning less & less flavour. I’ve eaten curry in Indian & Sri Lanka on a daily basis and I can tell you the dish I have just eaten from this takeaway (Harri michi murgi) was spot on. The spicing was just right, the texture was spot on and most importantly it was seasoned well which most Indian restaurants/takeaways no longer do. This all resulted in an extremely delicious flavoured authentic curry dish. The nan bread was cooked just right (most other establishments don’t cook nan bread long enough). I understand that most restaurants/takeaways are struggling to survive at the moment, but cutting back on flavours and authentic dishes, will make people spend their hard earned money on other things. I’ve only had the one curry from here at the moment, but I was thrilled with the dish I had from this establishment. A few days earlier I had a curry from a well known award winning Indian establishment in Newquay and it was bland, not seasoned properly and hardly any spices used with undercooked soggy nan bread, and they are rated better than this establishment which is such a shame!. Please try this place if you are into your curry’s and know how they should taste. You won’t be disappointed. Best curry I’ve tasted for over a year and that equates to over 100 curry’s from all over...
Read moreAbsolute WOW.
I came in January this year and was very impressed. So I brought my family last night as we are all in Newquay for the week from Sheffield.
The chicken in my curry was So tender and full of flavour, I had a Chemelli wich I’ve never heard of before but took a chance on somthing new, Hands down the best curry I’ve EVER had in the country, I’m not even exaggerating. The flavours of garlic, tomtatoe, lemon, yogurt just popped off in my mouth.
I had to share some with my fiancée, dad, step brother just because I didn’t want them to miss out, they agreed it was the best curry on the table. They loved there’s also but the Chemelli was out of this world!
I also had a lamb pasanda wich was the perfect sweetness to savoury ratio.
Popadoms a plenty & the pickle tray was huge!!! lime pickle is my go to, but ya never seem to get enough anywhere else.
Also had a side of saag paneer wich was ok but no the best I’ve had could do with a tiny bit more flavour.
Pashwari Nan was gorgeous too, lots of filling!
The resident beer on tap was one I’ve never tried and complimented the whole curry.
WAS SOOO IMPRESSED. Very glad I chose to take my family here. Paid off, as everyone was full and content with their food and experience.
I felt like the wait for the food was 5-10 mins longer (I was hungry) but was totally worth the wait for a freshly made to order curry rather than one taken from a giant already made pot.
100% will be returning, service was really nice, waiter was funny and interactive. And the price for 5 adults was more than reasonable, I feel they could charge slightly more at peak season.
Thankyou!...
