I had a really enjoyable experience at Golden Grill in Boscombe, and the platter I ordered was the highlight of my visit. From the start, the place felt welcoming, with a nice, clean setup and friendly staff who greeted me warmly. The service was quick but not rushed, which made the meal more relaxed and pleasant.

The platter itself was excellent and well worth the price. It came with a generous variety of items, including perfectly cooked chicken, tender lamb, and sides that were both fresh and flavourful. Instead of the subtle, well-rounded spicing that allows the flavour of the meat to shine, the kebab was heavily seasoned with an overpowering mix of spices, more reminiscent of Middle Eastern-style kebabs than a true Turkish dish. Unfortunately, the essence of a proper Turkish kofte was lost under this excess of seasoning.

In my opinion, the kebab dishes were tasty and the prices were quite reasonable. However, something happened that I had never experienced before and I honestly couldn’t believe it. My wife, our two young children and I were just finishing our meal – we were still drinking our beverages – when a waiter came over and asked us when we would be leaving the table. At first, I didn’t understand what he meant. I asked, ‘Do you mean you want us to leave? Why?’ He explained that new customers had arrived and were waiting for a table, so he wanted to know when we would be finished. I told him that we were nearly done with our food and still drinking, and that we would probably leave in about 10 minutes. Apparently, that seemed too long for him, and he looked annoyed.
