We stayed here for two nights in room 2. We as motorcycle riders were attracted by the themed rooms and vibe given out by the Deus Ex Machina brand. We loved the quirky room decor, and the bed was large and comfortable. Also the staff were friendly and helpful. The overall vibe of the place was quirky and different to normal chain hotels. Their coffee was also super nice. Our room above the main entrance was quite noisy until late, but I guess it's a pub. The shower although effective was an open fronted design which we had problems soaking the surrounding floor. This Lodge/Pub/hotel is probably one of the area's nicer venues. Our biggest gripe was probably the food. The menu has the smallest selection we've known in a restaurant. We tried the Hanger steak & chips. Hanger steak turned out to be three slices of steak cut from a larger one, not a whole steak. Small amount of sauce. It tasted nice, but not a main meal. The chips that came with it were best described as chip bits, scraped from the bottom of the frier. Rock hard and inedible. One or two bigger chips had black ends. Grim. It was possibly the worst meal ever offered and still charged for. We ordered a side salad as the main was just those chips and the tiny steak slices. This turned out to be just lettuce, one type of lettuce with a little oil drizzled over. No way can that item be described as salad. Lettuce leaves end of! We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis. Now breakfast was nicer, but only a drink and one item were in that deal, and if you wanted that one item to be a cooked full English, then that's a £4.00 supplement on top! That's a first for us at any hotel/ B&B There is very limited parking on site. About 5 spaces. There's also about 5 rooms. It was be nice if there was a designated parking space for each room. unfortunately is a free for all. You could get a space or you could be parking in a side street Deus Ex Machina lodge has plenty of good points but we didn't like the menu choices or the...

The answer yes,is all of them. Just a 5 minute walk away from beautiful Boscombe Beach. A bit of research, Deus ex Machina (god from the machine) roared into Australia’s cultural consciousness in 2006, with some neatly customised motorcycles, surfing, skateboarding, whatever. It sounded different. So off we popped to check it out with our boys in tow.
An all black exterior with a very modern interior. On arrival we were asked if we had booked? No,it was just a spur of the moment, as we don't book anywhere we don't know. They found us a seat in the bar area near the entrance. Our Bobby loved it as he could greet everyone who came through the door. During our visit there was a constant flow of dogs and families with kids and prams. The place soon filled up after we arrived.
Dishes sourced as ethically and locally as possible to the Dorset and Hampshire area.
We were just in time to order their Deus breakfast before they started sunday lunches. Which we presume most people had booked for. The breakfast consisted of Sausage, Bacon, Poached Eggs, Baked Beans, Hash Brown, Sourdough Toast for the princely sum of £13. It was very nice but thought they were a bit tight on the bacon. Coffee was good, although served in small cups at £3.80 we had to order two.
Service was chilled, but soon turned hectic as more customers arrived. Would we go again? Yes,but probably on a...
