Marvo Mysteries Escape Room Bournemouth — Attraction in England

I've done quite a few escape rooms so I know they vary in terms of quality and excitement. This was a well designed room and was very immersive in the sense that it was well made rather than some rooms which are usually just junk thrown in a room calling it a day. It was all hand made and felt expensive so you feel like you are getting your moneys worth and makes the room more enjoyable. It was clear from the moment we got the email about the room that there was a lot of attention to detail and expectations were high when we entered that amazing waiting area with all the artifacts pictured online.

The games master (forgotten their name unfortunately) was very energetic and was easy to bounce off which also helped to make the whole experience a lot more enjoyable.

The story was exciting and certainly interesting but we are sure the story changes slightly from the start to the end - this is highly likely because we weren't properly paying attention and listening. This is the only reason I have dropped the rating down to 4 stars but I do plan on retrying the room with some other friends so I can listen closely and see if this was our mistake. Despite this, we are still excited to take part in the next chapter of the story when it is ready.

Overall, we all left very happy and thoroughly enjoyed the room and can't wait to come back for part 2. This has set the bar very high for future rooms we try and have already recommended this room to the rest of our friends and family in the area - definitely a room...

Honestly, I was expecting more in terms of the attitude. First of all, the location was not easy to be reached. It was too dark and the side gate was closed with no mark near it to point to the location. Initially we thought it is private. We went around the building and then We found the front desk on the main street. We tried to ring the bell a few times, I tried to call about three times with no answer up to the extent I thought we booked a wrong city. 7 minutes later some one came out and just said you are on the wrong entrance and gave us a map saying follow the map and left. It would have been helpful if the map was attached to the email instead of the instructions. Anyway, we found the back entrance and there was no seating area, the same person came out and said wait here till the current players leave to allow us into the building. We sat on the floor for 5 minutes and it was freezing cold before they allowed us to get in.

After that, things got better. The game was very good, however we would have preferred not to finish the puzzle rather than ending up following popping up instructions by the time we find a clue. We did not have time to play the game or think. I appreciate they wanted us to finish in time but it was a bot boring to just follow instructions. We had an excellent experience at MARVO’s Mysteries. I have done escape rooms previously so had a bit of an idea about what we were about to do. but the rest of my party of 5 had not. From the moment we walked in to the exquisite waiting room ( a game itself recognising the artefacts) we were already being immersed into the game. Staff played their parts with enthusiasm able to keep the house rules and the story balanced. The escape room was high quality, well kept with some great puzzles and props which I will of course not spoil here. With our group of 5, the level of challenge was just right. The youngest player in the group was 14 (and perhaps a little skeptical before we arrived), but the moment they guessed their first clue, her face lit up and I knew we were in for a great time. We were able to complete the room in time and the end was just brilliant fun. Afterwards we were debriefed and it didn’t feel rushed at all, with an opportunity to get some nice little mementos of the day. It was all we could talk about after we left, asking each other about puzzles or saying how surprised we were when things happened. Definitely something that will stay with us.
