Went in for a spontaneous lunch while out for my dad's birthday. My sister got a bagel which she enjoyed and my dad and his girlfriend both got soup which again they enjoyed. They got a ham and cheese croissant to share to dip which was nice however would have been enjoyed more if offered warm. I got the pie and mash. The filling of the pie was lovely and the top of the pastry was okay. The mash was dry and not very enjoyable and the rest of the pasty was basically raw. I are as much as I could because I was so hungry but sorry someone that loves stodgy pastry but that was just uncooked. No one asked how the food was when they cleared the plates. The place itself was nice whith a little shop on the inside selling lots of different bits!

Having visited several times for coffee, cake and sandwiches, we enjoy the ambience and music and find staff friendly. The owner Rod goes out of his way to give great service. We decided to try the Feta and watermelon salad for a change which came with avocado on soda bread. We could not believe how delightful it was, both on the eyes, and to eat, the flavours were so fresh and well complimented. Will definitely have this again. Please give this lovely cafe a try and you will always be looking forward to your next visit. All in all - Superb!

Been going to Grane regularly now for 6 months or so, probably the best flat white in Harrogate ! Savoury food is delicious, can definitely tell they’re using high quality ingredients, even converted one of my teenage boys to eating their home msde coleslaw!! 😂. And whilst i don’t generally eat sweet treats, their range of cakes is superb (their cruffin’s are to die for). Friendly staff, nice atmosphere and a range of unique and high quality food products to buy makes this Harrogate’s No.1 coffee shop in my opinion

We came after reading articles saying they had an amazing £10k coffee machine, and it was not very good coffee, neither of us finished ours (we had takeaway) The flat white had no foam and it was bitter, the mocha tasted very thin, a little bit sour and not very chocolatey. I doubt it's the machines issue, possibly staff just need training on how to use it properly. The interior design is alright, nothing especially revolutionary, the way the pastries were displayed were beautiful though. We got an almond croissant and only 1/3 of it had the almond paste. The atmosphere was okay and staff were really nice. They have a section that has produce in it, which is hard to get to (behind tables) and I didn't see prices on the products which doesn't make someone want to buy it, especially as it's all artisan independent stuff. Could be hit or miss in Harrogate.

Interested to see how it improves over time, has potential, however definitely a lot more coffee/bakery/brunch places in Harrogate which are...

Me and a friend visited this cafe a few weeks ago but were left sadly feeling quite disappointed. There is a really friendly young gentleman who greeted us however the member of staff who served us at the counter and delivered our food wasn't as polite. Another member of staff spent the entire of our visit tweaking the position of cold drinks in the fridge and staring at the drinks when they were already precisely displayed. It just felt a bit odd! It isn't entirely clear where at the very large counter you order your food and I feel the cafe isn't exactly sure on what it is; a cafe, a bakery, a chocolatier, farm shop etc. What left us most disappointed was how very unclearly 20% is added onto the cost of everything when sitting in. This made 2 cold drinks, a bowl of muesli and a sandwich total over £25! There is a need and a captive audience for independent cafes and coffee shops in Harrogate and this place does have potential, I think it just needs to find one niche it's good at and...

ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT! The cakes and pastries from Grain are some of the best I’ve ever had … anywhere! Just amazing. Beautiful flat white coffees - the right size, perfect micro-foam, beautiful tasting coffee. Breakfast meals we had were fabulous - creative combinations of ingredients, beautifully presented and cooked (perhaps a bit on the small size - though I’m a glutton!) Lovely chill-out atmosphere. So far, it’s not become teaming with mothers and screaming children like many of the cafes in Harrogate - hopefully it will stay that way, as it’s currently a lovely, peaceful place to chill, drink great coffee and eat fabulous cakes and meals. The produce for sale in the shop is all really novel and unusual - in a really good way. The staff are friendly, helpful and really courteous, as is the owner. It’s not cheap, but it’s not expensive either. Priced just...
