BUONISSIMO!! My husband and I went to this lovely new authentic Italian restaurant in the Old Town of Swindon and loved it! We ordered a bottle of wine from the specials board and some pasta. The pasta is freshly made and so are the sauces. My husband had pappardelle with Sicilian sausage and nduja and I ordered spaghetti with octopus ragù and black olives. Oh My!! They were absolutely delicious, every mouthful was an explosion of flavours. I am Italian and have high expectations with Italian food so I don’t often go to Italian restaurants as I cook at home but it was a nice surprise to eat proper authentic Italian food in Swindon at last! The staff was very attentive and friendly. We have ordered take away pizzas from this restaurat and again they do not disappoint! They have a lovely “cornicione” (high crust around the base) as authentic Neapoletans pizzas should and the toppings are interesting and full of flavours. This restaurant is a little gem I would recommend to all my Italian friends and those who love authentic Italian food (those who don’t expect cream in carbonara...
Read moreLovely restaurant, with a great vibe to it. Staff very attentive without being intrusive, but quite restrictive choice of beers & ciders, which are all bottles. Thought the sharing anti pasti boards were overpriced at £18.50 each, and sadly a little disappointing with no oils or balsamic dips to flavour the doughy bread. Had the Milanese chicken, which was very large and juicy, but had no seasoning on it, so tasted quite bland sadly. And although the fries had a sprinkling of oregano on them, they again had no salt on them, and unfortunately there’s no condiments on the tables to add additional seasoning to personal taste. I dud ask for some, but gave up after waiting a few minutes. And here is the rub, the dreaded Deliveroo thing, and online orders taking preference on customers in the restaurant led to a 40 minute wait for our main course after our starters. Really resent that we’ve made the effort to go to their restaurant for a meal experience, but made to wait for those sat an their backsides at home ordering and getting their food cooked ahead of...
Read moreWe visited last Friday first of all I must say the staff were friendly and good service even though they were very busy. Good atmosphere.
Price wise on the high side £81 for two pizzas an antipasti sharing board, a tomato side salad and a bottle of wine.
The antipasti overpriced at £18.50 should be about £4 cheaper. The focaccia is tasty but heavy. Cheese mostly tasteless and could do with a bit of olive oil or balsamic. Wine at £26 nothing to write home about. Pizzas, good average nothing more, on mine the pepperoni very average.
Saying this I've just spent a couple of week touring round Italy and had some amazing pizza's.
Lastly the tables are marble and cold I never like those and sitting next to the wall with the mirrors you can watch yourself eat.
Would I go back .... Yes if others wanted to go but probably not if it...
