Ah, Greggs, Wessex Retail Park. The place where you can grab a sausage (or vegan) roll and if you're lucky, a basic level of human decency. A family member of mine recently visited the branch and was met with a glare so intense it could curdle milk. The female staff member (possibly Scottish) looked at her with what can only be described as contempt. No greeting, no smile...just pure frost. Meanwhile, the gentleman behind them was treated like royalty. Polite tone, friendly service. Almost as if the contrast was intentional.
Now, we’re not in the business of jumping to conclusions, but when the pattern is that obvious, it’s hard not to notice. If selective courtesy is part of the training, it’s certainly being executed with precision.
We’re not here to be victims - we’re here to call it out. Discrimination, whether subtle or blatant, has no place in any establishment. Especially one that sells pastries.
