I went to this place yesterday with a friend for a coffee as we hadn't been their since it opened and it's just up the road from his house. As soon as we entered the shop Les who worked their (what I think his name badge said) (was around 5pm 10/09/2020 and a 40+ year old male) barked at us "put your mask on"! I am exempt and told Les that but he ignored me, my friend put his on. We then got to the counter and Les without saying hello or anything else said we had to take part in the track and trace scheme to purchase drinks and pointed at the counter QR code rudely. I explained my phone had just died as I had just worked a long shift. He said if we want a drink we have to sit outside (which we were going to do anyway but he was incredibly rude). We drank our drinks and brought in our cups after to dispose of them when buying more coffee to save the staff from doing it. When I entered the shop Les said very loudly "don't bring your rubbish in here. Dispose of it outside in the bins". I understand new rules are in place but he could have at least been polite. This man was incredibly rude and shouting at us like yobs (by previous reviews I think others have met him too). I loved our coffee and the younger member of staff who was working with him (unfortunately didn't get his name) was lovely and very helpful. Read moreI recently visited the Starbucks at Fleet Corner and had a very disappointing experience. I ordered a bacon roll, and it was served lukewarm on the outside and cold in the middle. This is now the third time I've encountered such issues with food quality at this location.
I'm also concerned about the food safety practices here. Staff were not wearing gloves while handling food, and I only observed one set of tongs being used for everything, which raises serious hygiene concerns. There were no temperature checks to ensure the food was heated properly, and it seemed there were no records to confirm that food safety standards were being maintained. When I asked about this, I was told, "the oven is preset, so there is no need to check," which is clearly not acceptable.
Due to these ongoing issues, I've reported my concerns to the Food Standards Agency. I hope management takes these matters seriously and improves their food safety practices. I won't be returning until I...
Read moreThis 5* review is specifically for the 2 women who were working in fleets corner today on their own. It was ridiculously busy, a huge queue for drive through, huge queue inside and a constant stream of deliveroo drivers. They were clearly significantly under staffed and yet they remained so calm, professional and polite in the face of this, even when a woman came in from the drive through and shouted at them that there were people waiting (yes I think they can see that!!). It may have taken over half an hour to get a coffee but I just wanted to thank them for working on Christmas eve and we think you were doing a fab job! On a side note it would be great if you had permission to turn off deliveroo orders in circumstances like that as clearly the grumpy people outside couldn't see the streams of orders you were getting in that we...
