Beware of this place and the horrible manager. I booked a table for 2 people by phone the day before we were visiting. I specifically requested a table adjacent to the salad bar because of a relative having limited mobility and this was confirmed by the male who answered. On arrival, it soon transpired that we were being placed nowhere near the salad bar and almost as far away as they could do so. After speaking to a waiter, I Spoke to the current Manager (Lee who interjected the conversation) who advised me he had us booked as party of 3, no mention of disability and my request and insisted he was the only male on site the day before when I booked it and didn’t take my call. I suggested that could he possibly have been in the toilet at the time and i spoke to someone else and explained the above but he insisted very abruptly that he was not as definitely no other males on site. I was very annoyed with his attitude and said we would leave to which he said we had best leave because it was obvious we were going to complain. Got that bit right didn’t you Lee! Nasty man and clearly wanted to fill the tables with larger groups over customer service. My husband and I used to visit the restaurant regularly but the food portions got smaller and the quality poorer. Only visited this time because my mum doesn’t get out a lot and likes the mini lamb ribs. Wont be visiting ever again cos the current Manager is not pleasant at all. He needs to go back to learning how to be open, honest and pleasant to customers and to admit when they have made a mistake and potentially needs disability discrimination training. March 24

This is the first time that we have been back to this harvester since the "refurb". We have been using the other harvester in Peterborough (near to the east of England showground) while the pavilions were closed. We were really disappointed. The restaurant was pretty cold, and we noticed other guests were either watering jumpers or even coats!! We had to do the same! We did point this out to a member of staff who appeared to see to turning the heating back on. The waitress looking after us was very polite, and gave good customer service. The disabled toilet didn't have a toilet roll dispenser on the wall (you can see it was there at originally) and didn't have any toilet roll in it, which we hadn't noticed until after my daughter had used the facility, and had to be transferred to a different toilet - which to add insult to injury, someone had blocked the si k with toilet paper and filled it with water (I cleared the blockage to prevent other guests having the same problem) The high chairs that were stacked in a pile ready to be used were discussing, with crumbs and food remains on. Someone had pit a cleaning cloth on the top of the pile, but it remained there for the whole duration of our visit. Such a shame, we used to enjoy this place, but will have to revert to driving to the other branch a little further away. To end on a positive note, the food was absolutely amazing, with all members of the family thoroughly enjoying their meals - and as previously stated, "Emily" or waitress was very helpful.

Original Review from 24/11/2022: We tried to go here for food tonight. Despite there being hardly anyone there and being there at 5 we were told the wait was till half 8 (see pictures of the place I think there were maybe three tables taken) Soon after I tried to book a table ok the app and would have able to book for half five. Absolute rubbish. EDIT TO ADD: As it seems I can only update the review and not add a new one to add the more recent experience (so the photos are from the original review, for clarity) 31/08/2025: After a few years we have tried here again nothing gets any better with this place. We had seen an offer advertised for the summer holidays and checking on the app it stated check t&cs which didn’t seem to have an obvious link to open to check the date the offer ended. Asked our server if the deal was still running, which they needed to check with their manager as they weren’t sure but they came back and confirmed the offer was still running and it was the last day of the offer- at this point there was no mention of requiring the app to pay. But at the point of paying the server apologised saying he had forgotten about the offer and then when it came to rectifying it, it transpired the offer wasn’t active anymore. Manager just kept saying refer to terms even though his staff member had reported it was still active before we ordered. Point blank refused to do anything at all.

I really wasnt impressed with my most recent visit to Harvester. I have been visiting this harvester for over 10 years and the staff have always been amazing and the food has always been 10/10.

Unfortunately on this occasion the food was less than sub standard, my burger was overcooked, the chips were bland, and my "half rack of ribs" were about a third of a rack of ribs, with no meat on them. Also the bottles of sauces on the table were pretty much empty.

I ordered a pepsi refill when asked what drink I would like, and then when i went up to get pepsi from the machine - there was a Little note to say that there is no longer pepsi due to a government legislation. It would have been nice to have been told at the point of ordering pepsi, as I do not like sugar free drinks and would have ordered something else.

The prices are pretty extortionate now compared to a couple of years back - what used to be a nice treat once every few months is now more of a special occasion once a year, but to be honest after today's visit I probably wont return now.

What really frustrated me is that I asked to purchase 2x bottles of BBQ sauce, as I have done every single visit for over 10+ years - I was told by the waitress that they have never sold BBQ sauce. Harvester BBQ sauce is the only bbq sauce I like, and have specifically made sure I visit regularly to ensure i stock up for my meals at home - but now I am told they dont sell BBQ sauce and neve have done, it has put me off for good.

Really disappointed overall. You've had some amazing staff over the past 10+ years such as Jo and Mark, but the atmosphere and quality is no where near what it was. Shame the Harvester at the showground has now closed down and this is the only...
