Having been recommended Heaths, we finally visited. What a disappointment & I do not write a negative review lightly as my son is a chef! We ordered the soup plus a salt and pepper chicken wrap with chips from the menu board. The young man serving us took our order, then returned to tell us the soup on the board had changed but they hadn’t had time to change the board (?) Not a problem, we simply changed to the new soup. When it arrived we had not been given soup spoons, obviously an oversight, however, the wrap had a salad - no chips. We told our waiter and reminded him we had specifically asked for chips, off he went to find out why & out came a lady from the kitchen to tell us the fryer wasn’t on yet. This was lunchtime, so why did it state chips on the board if they obviously were unable to serve chips; why did the waiter taking our order not know this (& about the different soup) and, quite frankly, why was the fryer not on? Maybe this was a one off, but I think what irked the most, was the blasé attitude of both the staff nor any kind of apology. When we left the menu board had still not...
Read moreBeen here a couple of times before no issues at all. In fact I'd say usually excellent and ED is usually lovely. Today however had the worst ,driest chicken wrap ever in my life. Overcooked and inedible. Waited for staff to ask if food was OK, but never came round. Had 1 bite and even chips were dry. When I went to pay they took full payment 23 pound for both me and wife and simply said " I should have mentioned it " !!! If I'm paying 23 quid " stickton heath prices" I don't expect to have to get up and find someone to say " this food is inedible " I will definitely not be returning. The fact they still charged for the meal. Lol. 23 quid for a chicken wrap and Welsh rarbit ( cheese on toast) and a brew. Don't mind really if I could eat it @#£@. Wont be calling again !! If, just if you read this ? Please don't reply trying to justify it somehow. No wonder your reviews for food is only 6 out of 10 !! If...
Read moreMe and my partner had the Sunday roast dinner today which was fabulous. I had the chicken and he had the lamb. Everything there on the plate you could wish for with the addition of mint sauce if liked, and stuffing and cranberry sauce. I followed this with the key lime cheesecake and he had a chocolate cake for dessert. Served with a large glass of Prosecco each and all for just under £30! Bargain by anyone’s standards. But what makes this place so special is the staff and family atmosphere as well as the amazing food. I don’t manage across to Stockton Heath as much as I would like but when I do this is turning into my ‘go to’ place. Back again in a few weeks time bringing family for another fab Sunday roast. TOP NOTCH 👍 ((All food that I have had there which has included a variety of breakfast and lunch options has been excellent and very good value for quality food...
