7 of us visited here for a Christmas set meal, WHAT A DISASTER!! First of all there were issues with drinks available at the bar, I ordered a large New Zealand white wine, and when I ordered another they never had any left, and while choosing another drink at the bar other customers were told there chosen drinks weren't available, one person had 3 choices declined! Our table was decorated nicely with Christmas crackers etc, but we were sat in the window and it was very cold, the radiator was stone cold so coats needed to be worn while eating. As it was a set menu we had to pre order our food about a week before our arrival, so when our starters didn't come out for well over an hour I was a little surprised, a few of us had ordered the Patè, well I wouldn't of given that to my cat, it was hot, dark brown on top and pink inside and runny where it was so hot, this was served with a garnish that looked as though it had died weeks ago!! Our mains came out around 9.30pm, the roast turkey dinner looked lovely however 2 of the dinners had absolutely NO GRAVY on them. When I raised this with the waitress whilst she was asking if we wanted any extra sauces, she was rude and abrupt and barked, "I KNOW I'M GETTING IT NOW! So we sat patiently waiting, then started eating our food as we couldn't wait any longer, infact we had all nearly finished our meals and one person had completely finished when a different waitress came and asked if our food was OK, I raised that we didn't have any gravy and that the waitress said she was getting it and also how rude she was. This waitress apologised and did get gravy for a small amount of food left on one plate. Then it was time for dessert..... we still had all of our main meal plates on the table, which we cleared ourselves to a empty table to make room for the desserts. These were bought out by a different waiter, we pointed out that we shouldn't have to clear the table ourselves and his reply was that they were "TOO STRETCHED"..... the after eight sundaes were not consistent, one person had half in her glass of others, but by this time we were so fed up with the whole experience that we couldn't be bothered! I do appreciate that at Christmas time restaurants can be busy, however this certainly wasn't the case and there were lots of empty tables available. It took 3.5 hours to eat our food. The service was diabolical and I've had better food in the morrisons cafe. Personally I'm not into HOT RUNNY PATÈ or rude ignorant staff, so I absolutely won't...
Read moreI've been before quite a lot. But this evening the service was terrible. Probably some of the worst service I've ever received!
We sat down at the table and the waitress served as as normal and allowing us to move table for better access for a wheelchair then she took our order. We ordered 3 drinks, starters, sides and mains and a dessert. It took 40 minutes (bearing in mind it wasn't that busy) to bring our Drinks, STARTERS and mains all at once! What restaurant brings a starter and main out at the same time? Kinda beats the point really, because surely that is classed as a side, right?
By the time we started eating our meal we realised I hadn't received my drink and we had no sides to the already full table. So I mentioned this to the waitress and I eventually received my drink. The sides didn't come until after we finished! It's a side not a dessert!
We waited a further ten minutes after our meal for my daughter's dessert that never came. We gave up and asked for the bill to then say to the lady I'm not paying for the dessert because we never received it!
I understand that you were under staffed because you had the chiefs walking around and collecting the plates instead of actually cooking the meals, but that is not the customer's problem. We shouldn't have to receive half the service but pay full price because you have half the staff! Not happy
Breakfast Review... Honestly I have no idea what's going on with this place. Breakfast used to be so good.... The coffee machine is barely working and the past 5 times I've came in the space of about 3 months you haven't had orange juice and when I asked a member or staff they said that it's because the price of it has gone up. Which would be completely understandable if you hadn't already upped your prices!!
The fact that you've upped your prices surely you can afford an extra coffee machine and to not sell the same tropical rubbish that absolutely no adult likes!
Honestly don't know what's happened to this place over a couple years but I will be going down the road to manor...
Read moreWe visited this venue as a family on 12th February 2022. I have to say that generally, we have always found this place to be good value for money and more to the point, serving hot, tasty food. Obviously over the years there has been the occasional dip in service quality. But, we have always bitten the bullet and put it down to short staffing, misunderstanding, Covid restraints - blah-de-blah! But, this visit has left me feeling we will not be returning in a hurry! To start with, our chairs were littered with crumbs and food debris from previous customers! Both my partner and my sister ordered the mushrooms for a starter. I opted out of a starter, which was just as well! A few dry specimens arrived on two plates with BBQ sauce. No salad, lacking presentation and looking anything even remotely appealing! My (fatty) gammon arrived hidden under a snotty egg, with warm, dry overcooked chips and stone cold peas! My sister struggled through her curry, which again lacked presentation. The naan bread was slung on top of the rice and she had to ask the waitress for something to place the naan on, while she tackled the tough chicken. The waitress brought her another serviette! My sister left a good deal of her dish! My partners dry old steak looked oddly cremated on the outside and yet pink to red on the inside! Her chips and peas mirrored mine and in fact she didn't even attempt her peas, as they too were stone cold. She passed the tomato on to my plate and I can tell you that was hard and cold! Did the waitress pop over to ask if all was well? Did she hell? In fact I had to ask twice for another Appletiser for my partner and she finally brought that over with the bill! To top the experience, I wrote this review at 5-30am after sitting on the loo for 2 hours after the worst churning, upset stomach, I have ever had! It's a shame really. As we had visited this place years ago, before we even moved here from London and have returned numerous times since. But, enough is enough. We...
