Hove Park Cafe — Restaurant in England

Honestly I was pretty upset by my experience here.

I came with my baby to grab a quick cheese toastie and slice of cake for lunch while she was in a good mood.

After waiting 15 mins (understandable, it was busy!) a ham toastie was left outside, which I realised after a while was meant to be for me. When I asked for the right order I was told “2 minutes”, but 5 minutes later I was still waiting. When I went to politely find out if it would be much longer, I was given an untoastie- 2 slices of bread with some cold grated cheese.

By this point my baby was crying so I gave up and asked for a refund, at which point I was told it was my fault for “rushing them”, although it’s still unclear how patiently waiting 20 minutes(!) for the wrong food in rushing anyone. Refund given but no apology offered.

The cake was very nice but the total lack of manners left a bad taste...

So met some family and went here for a sit chat n drink firstly I would of given them 5 stars as the coffee was really good and plenty of seating and the food available looked great. We were enjoying ourselves but at 16.15 (they close at 5pm) they started removing outside tables and chairs this made us feel unwelcome and wasn't nice hearing tables n chairs being dragged around let alone ruining what was ment to be a relaxing moment.. At 16.30 they had removed every table and chair not being used and one of the staff was on the balcony and literally stared across at us giving me the impression of a dirty look for holding them up from being able to leave dead on 5 this made us feel uncomfortable and I personally was disgusted. I may have misread it but I'm pretty certain all they wanted was for us to leave so they could go home.. anyway u lost 2 stars for...

I come here twice a week with my little one and always buy at least coffee, juice and and ice cream. Usually food too. Today my partner and our little one visited the cafe and the service from the manager was so unnecessarily rude. My partner went over to the fridge and took a juice for our 2 year old child then the manager storms over to him and aggressively says NO those are not for sale! We havent priced those yet and never had those before. My partner explained to him that he bought this juice from the cafe last week so surely you know the price to which that the manager responds NO WE HAVE NEVER SOLD THOSE BEFORE! And proceeds to repeatedly shout no no no! I am shocked that a manager can speak to a regular customer like this especially Infront of his two year old child. I feel very let down and uncomfortable to return to this cafe again...
