Goldstone Cafe in Hove is, without a doubt, the best Chinese I’ve ever eaten – and I’ve had a lot! From the moment you walk in, you’re met with such a warm, welcoming atmosphere that it instantly feels like a family-run place with real heart. It’s incredibly family-friendly, too – the staff go out of their way to make everyone feel comfortable, and it’s a great spot for both relaxed meals with the kids or catching up with friends.

Now onto the food – wow. Every dish is packed with flavour and clearly made with care. My absolute favourite has to be the prawn toast – unlike anything I’ve had before. It’s full of chunky, fresh prawns, not the usual thin spread you get elsewhere. You can really taste the quality, and it’s honestly addictive.

Everything from the crispy chilli beef to the noodles was spot on – fresh, perfectly seasoned, and cooked to perfection. You can tell the ingredients are top-notch and nothing feels mass-produced. I have been to the restaurant and had food delivered and still the quality was outstanding, I’ve never had a bad dish...

We have been meaning to try this place after seeing it earlier this year, as we browsed the menu a very friendly man gave us menus to take away and look over which had a wide variety of typical cafe food and Chinese food on, plus a bar! We went last night greeted by all staff, had to try many dishes and finished them all as they were amazing! Recommend the squid starter as my favourite one there, but all were fresh, hot and great quality. We got a 1/4 duck to share too which went further than expexted. The staff were very attentive to our needs during the meal and we sat outside the back afterwards (which is huge and a bonus for anywhere in Hove) with a drink. My daughter and I decided to celebrate her new job with a Chinese takeaway last night and I’ve wanted to try this place for awhile now - it did not disappoint from start to finish! My order was taken efficiently with my daughter’s allergy noted, delivery was exceedingly quick, food was piping hot and very, very good quality. A special mention to the ginger/spring onion chicken, the biggest sweet n sour chicken balls we’ve ever eaten, special fried rice and char siu chow mein. The crispy chilli beef was not so crispy but actually melted in the mouth - delicious!!

I left doing my review until this morning because I wanted to test out how much MSG had been added and I had no side effects at all, a huge plus!!
