Wow! We found this restaurant by driving through Middlewich and what a treat it was. For me it was a vegetarian heaven. For a starter we ordered a vegetarian sharing plate and everything was not only made from scratch but yummy. My favourite arancini, mushrooms stuffed with mozarella and baked aubergine... it really couldn't get any better. To be honest the starter was so big that I hardly squeezed the main. I ordered quattro formaggi pizza and my husband had a chicken pasta. Everything was perfect. Not only food. The owner, waiters, decoration. Everything was beautiful. Even the price! If I had to give an improvement idea - the aubergine for the sharing plate either come in two separate dishes or be already cut in half. Only because I made a mess trying to share it 🫣 Also I apologise for the photo of the sharing plater.. I got so excited that I didn't take a photo when it came... few items are already eaten

A truly great hidden gem. Situated halfway down the main street in Middlewich II Padrino sit in the old Alahmbra building. Inside the welcome is warm and you feel like you are stepping into a true family restaurant with the staff passionate about both the food and the service. Decor inside has a really unique and classy feel to it and you are instantly relaxed. The food speaks for itself, I have eaten several times and each time the food was amazing, of unsure of a dish just ask and advise will passionately been given. This is a true gem in the local community and one Iook forward to returning to.

Wow. Cannot recommend this restaurant enough. Issy our waitress was FANTASTIC. very accommodating and understanding, chatty, polite and lovely in general. She really made our visit that extra special and memorable. The food was exceptional, we ordered various dishes and everything was fantastic. The chef brought out food and took time to chat with us - you could tell how passionate he was about his expertise. Real authentic, fresh and bursting with flavour. The setting is lovely, spacious and very beautiful surroundings. 10/10 in every aspect. We will 100% be back. Thanks all at il Padrino.

Many issues created here but sadly more by the staff! Our drinks took 15 minutes to come, two at a time Our starters arrived half an hour after ordering One of our starters was burnt so had to be remade and came out after all of us had finished (group of 6) Our mains took an hour to arrive after the starters had been finished Our food was stone cold as were the plates/bowls (despite being warned they were hot) No waiter or waitress came to check on our food so had to twice go and ask for service (drinks) When finally taking our plates the waitress (bless her it was her second day) she asked how the food was and we explained that it wasn't very good but not a big deal and we wanted the bill. She then told another waiter who came to ask why it wasn't good and we explained, who THEN got the manager who then became less discreet in a disagreement with us that the food was not in fact cold as it was freshly made by the TWO, ONLY TWO, chefs, one with "52 years of experience and another with 30." While the restaurant gave us a 20% discount on our food which we were grateful for, however the sheer indiscreet bickering the manager gave us was more disappointing than the food. I recognise that he was trying to make up for the bad food, yet he honestly seemed to just 'butter us up' so we wouldn't leave a bad review. I've never written a bad review of a restaurant before because no experience has ever been this embarrassing. Apparently this isn't the first issue they've had with the food being cold as it's also mentioned in multiple other reviews up to...

Wow!! This is the one to beat!

Every single aspect was absolutely first class! We were greeted by Alberto and Jamie who made us feel so welcome and showed us straight to our table. The menu was filled with the most tempting authentic Italian food and it was difficult to make a decision. However, after much deliberation, and with a mind to have 4 courses, I had Goats cheese on toasted ciabatta, with caramelized onion, little gem leaves, and a dash of balsamic glaze. The flavours were in perfect balance... the presentation was a delight, and the portion size was much bigger than I anticipated! We had a sharing dish of mixed olives, which we munched through for a few minutes before our mains arrived. Oh my days! We both ordered the chargrilled rib eye steak with mixed vegetables... I have never seen a steak that size in my life!! It was enormous! Cooked to perfection and filled with flavour! Again the presentation was delightful and the veg would have a made a meal on their own! Alberto and Jamie were the perfect hosts, attentive but not annoying, and happy to make suggestions for alternatives to help with the indecisive (like me!) This was the best meal out I have ever had! It was even reasonably priced! This place is an absolute gem of a place! So lucky it's on my doorstep! I can wholeheartedly recommend for all kinds of celebrations, for families, intimate meals... you won't be...
