I recently dined at Jagua Indian Restaurant and overall, my experience was a mixed bag, meriting a 3.5-star rating out of 5. On the positive side, the service and atmosphere of the restaurant were commendable. The staff was attentive, and the ambiance of the place contributed to a pleasant dining experience.
However, the dining experience was marred by several issues related to the food and service efficiency. Unfortunately, the food did not meet my expectations. A significant letdown was the Sasik, which was overly charred, detracting from its flavor. Additionally, despite the restaurant not being overly busy, there was a mix-up with our order. Our meals were mistakenly delivered to the table next to us, which unnecessarily extended our wait time. Moreover, the overall waiting time for the dishes to arrive and even for the bill was longer than anticipated.
These areas of improvement made our dining experience less enjoyable than it could have been, overshadowing the positive aspects of service...
Read moreThe food was flavourless. I ordered a medium heat curry which was mild. My friend ordered a vindaloo which was mild (didn't even cause a sweat)!
The chicken was that cheap square stuff you usually get in Chinese chicken balls. Two of the three of us said the curry and pilau rice was like microwave ready meals. The onion bhajis were flat and batter heavy. The poppadoms were originally served alone until the waiter came back 5 minutes later asking if we'd like pickle.
The naan was nice. But, alas, couldn't save the whole meal.
The restaurant was dead. Should have taken that red flag to go elsewhere.
I found it peculiar listening to elevator-style jazz music.
I felt sorry for the guy serving us or I would have told him it really wasn't good when he asked.
We got more than half of the food wrapped to bring home as I usually love leftover curry the day after but I have dreaded returning to it, and instead opted to give it to my cousin who will eat anything.
Sadly, not worth the...
Read moreWe visited JAGUA for the first time yesterday evening (Sunday) and we will definitely be returning. The food tasted very fresh, each dish had a great deal of flavor, good portion sizes and value for money. We ordered 4 main dishes to include:
Meat (lamb) Rogan Josh, soft and succulent. Chicken Tikka Balti, asked for extra fresh chilli to be added and tasted perfect Chicken Pasanda, creamy and included nuts and sultanas - YUM! Butter Chicken, could not have tasted any better
We also ordered 2 sides of rice between 4 of us, 2 x naan breads, side of mushrooms and Bombay aloo. Plenty of food to share!!
The restaurant is huge and whilst it wasn't busy, we could not fault the service and we really do wish you every success during the coming months. Thank you for a...
