After a really emotional day attending a funeral, we decided to go come here. On arrival we were told that due to a customer breaking the handset taking card payments earlier we needed to pay by cash. We were not told this when we booked a table x 8 over the phone, however luckily a cash machine was nearby 😂. Wine ordered as was the food. The starters and main courses were lovely and we ordered more wine. The original wine of which we ordered, two bottles was no longer available so we ordered the alternative. Again this was enjoyed. So we decided to order another bottle but we must have been the most unlucky customers as they’d run out of this one. So we had there next offering. Again lovely. It sounds a lot of wine but there was 8 of us drinking the wine over an 2 hour period . We were then told the restaurant was closing and basically we were asked to leave at 10pm despite the fact we were having issues with securing a taxi. Luckily, they didn’t throw us out and one did arrive. Food was lovely but there did not appear to be any real management. Apparently the manager was on a train. Some of the waiting staff were great and very apologetic for the issues which was nice. I’m sure we were just unlucky.

A short walk from a hotel we stayed at. We arrived, and were seated straight away. Given time to choose from the extensive choice of menu. The staff were attentive, quick, and polite. The food was absolutely delicious and very much enjoyed by both. We ordered two curries, both were as nice as the other. We shared chips, rice, naan bread and samosas. All of which were tasty and cooked perfectly. The chicken was tender. A birthday cake candle set the smoke alarms off but staff were quick to act and reassure everyone that actually it was just smoke from the birthday candle. We carried on enjoying our meal with very little disturbance. Cobra Indian larger went down a treat. Reasonably priced and very much enjoyed.

Big takeaway order. The chicken in Chicken jalfrezi wasn't fresh, looked like recooked chicken and most of it was chewy. (See photos). Sag paneer was just plain, literally no flavour, just Saag and over cooked paneer. Tesco do a better Indian. First Peshwari naan was great and second one was undercooked. Onion bhajis were a soggy mess. Why are ingredients not fresh? Placed an order based on their Google reviews and to say im disappointed is a understatement.

Fourth time eating here. Normally lovely food and attentive staff. This time, staff had limited communication. Asking the question.. 'what spices are in this dish' and getting a confused face so rephrasing the question to 'what does this taste like' .. to get the reply of 'curry taste'. When we laughed he didn't seem to get the joke. (Indian curry house) My dish was chicken tikka massala made spicier on request. Although I'm not sure if you could call what I had chicken. The meat was white and rubbery. We were convinced it was tofu or maybe cooked too fast to have that texture and colour. It definitely wasn't tilkka'ed. When we commented to the waiter (after gaining his attention) he didn't understand at all and therefore did nothing. Completely disappointed with the experience, which is a shame as I usually love eating there. But it will put me off eating there again. We thought perhaps there was a change of hands since we had last been as the menus are now laminated paper rather than on leather bound menus? Other than problems stated it was good. I.e. no problems with other dishes (both lamb) and the sauces and rice were great. Also thought it was a shame you could only buy 3 different wines by the glass and they're...

I was staying in Shepton Mallet for a few days and happened upon this place. Got lucky I think when we walked in. Table for 2? No problem.

The mark of a good curry house for me is the pops and chutneys, and how quickly they get a drink on your table. Answer: super quick. And the pops/chutneys were superb. Granted, they’re not difficult, but some places do somehow manage to mess it up.

Service wasn’t “overly” friendly (which is a good thing), but friendly enough, fast, attentive and straightforward.

I’m a stickler for a good veg samosa, and these hit the spot. Delicious. For main, I had the mixed grill and I have to say, quite possibly the best mixed grill I’ve ever had. Tender lamb, beautifully cooked chicken on and off the bone, onions and peppers still had a bit of crunch and not incinerated. Daal masala on the side; equally good.

If I ever find myself in that neck of the woods again, I’ll be making a bee line for the...
