Jampee Thai Restaurant — Restaurant in England

Very poor experience. We were the only people in the restaurant, so not like they were busy, but the waitress was just not interested. On numerous occasions i had to get up and order the food at the counter myself after waiting for ages for them to turn up. Food was ok, not the Thai we were expecting based on reviews, but understandable that its been altered for the local palate. After starters we did request for the food to be made spicy and to cook the food as they would in Thailand which they didn’t. We requested chilli sauce which arrived after we were 75% done with our food. The noodles dish we ordered were way undercooked, not al dente but rock hard! The service was extremely poor didn’t provide side plates as starters arrived, forgot to provide new plates after we had to send back the noodles. After calling them for new plates only to find there’s no body actually there, so once again had to get up and call them out. We paid around £80 for 4 people with no drinks, no desserts, and one less main than we would have ordered so a pretty expensive place. None the less, not recommended and...

This was honestly one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had. They got 2 stars because of the company i was with and the ambience or it would have been -1. The service was appalling—we waited far too long, struggling to get the waitress’s attention, and nearly had to get up just to place our order.

The starters were terrible, reminiscent of something straight from a supermarket freezer. The fried tofu was dry, tasteless, and served without any sauce—we had to ask for it separately. When the mains arrived, things didn’t get any better. The chili used was cheap and bitter, clearly just low-quality powders. The jungle curry was extremely spicy, which I usually enjoy, but it had an overwhelming bitterness that made it unpleasant—more like something from a cheap commercial food stall than a proper restaurant. The noodles were average at best.

This is the first negative review I’ve ever written, but I honestly don’t understand where all the positive reviews come from. Perhaps from people who have never tried authentic Thai food? Either way, it was a complete...

We have always loved Thai food, and we like Jampee since the first visit. I was very impressed by their Thai ice tea, the ice was not just normal ice but was frozen ice tea! We have ordered take away a couple times as well. Today it was me and my husband’s wedding anniversary, but with the lock down we couldn’t really go out to celebrate. We were very grateful to see Jampee still opened for (non contact) delivery and they have done a great job to make our day very special. Super yummy food (really like the soft shell crab tempura and their Pad Thai) and really good service from everybody. Can’t wait to have a proper visit again after...
