After a business night out in late 2021, we returned to K2h last night. Our first visit was sensational. The staff were friendly and attentive, the food was spectacular. Sadly last nights experience was the extreme opposite.
After booking the table to celebrate a birthday, we were places in the corner under an extremely bright light. Explaining that my partner suffers from severe migraines we asked to either have the lights dimmed or move table. The lady left and sadly didnât take this matter seriously. 10 minutes later a lovely blonde hair gentleman whom served us previously attended to this matter when we raised the concern again. Clearly customer service isnât every member of staffs strong point, as the female waitress returned to take the order seemingly unimpressed that we were all still unsure what to have. We all ordered the same starter. Which on our previous visit was superb. Sadly this time, 2 of the portions were not cooked throughly. We returned the dishes after eating parts. The manager on duty attended the table to attempt to reassure that the meat was infact cooked, that it was simply there seasoning techniques that made the chicken look pink. đ He informed that the chicken had been probed prior to serving; yet when questioned about the fact there were no incision holes for this to have happened, he continued to ensure it was not undercooked. After asking had he actually looked at the meat he replied ânoâ. The chicken was NOT cooked throughout. Our mains arrived and we nervously checked all the meat, which did in have probe holes. After paying the full bill, which included the undercooked starters which were returned. We all returned home. Over the last 12 hours, 2 of the party have now developed severe stomach pains, including sickness and a temperature. One has since had to seek medical attention. Sadly this has ruined now both experiences at the restaurant. Perhaps the owners could share their care and customer service skills to the staff who look after the restaurant in their absence. As this matter was most definitely not handled in the correct manner.
*The young blonde haired gentleman however is a credit...
Read more14 th August 2019. First visit since a disastrous one shortly before the official opening January 2017 ( see review on Trip Advisor). Phoned to order a takeaway from their on-line menu, but was told that the lamb kebab I wanted was no longer on the menu! I was given an alternative, which I ordered. However, it was so spicy that I was unable to eat it.
15th August 2019. Second night in a row! Attempted to order another takeaway. (Never let it be said that I don't give people a chance.) This time the man answering the phone told me that I would be put through to the person dealing with takeaway orders. I was left hanging on the phone for a good few minutes. I could hear pandemonium going on in the background. Finally a man came to the phone and said that 'something was going on, and could I ring back in 10-15 minutes '.
I decided to wait at least 25 minutes, to give them time to sort themselves out. When I phoned back, the man answering the phone recognised my voice. 'You rang earlier', he said. 'We were waiting for you to call back'. I explained that under the circumstances I thought it better to wait a while. He then apologised for the wait, blaming it on new staff (from previous experience, nothing new there!)
I then told him about my previous nights order. He immediately knew what I was referring to. I explained the lamb was so spicy that I was unable to eat it. He then gave me the impression that we would be compensated in some way. I mentioned that the dishes on the menu don't have a spice rating.
My husband went to collect the order. No mention of compensation in any form. We hadn't expected it, but why mention something and then not deliver it?
I have now run out of patience with K2H. Dismal customer service, endless excuses, and very little apparent desire or ability to run an...
Read moreThis was our first visit and was a mixed bag. Maybe eating at 6 was a bit early for a Saturday evening as the overriding feeling from the visit was disorganised and rushed. We six were seated promptly by a lovely, friendly young lady, and asked if we wanted popodums. Knowing that a visit to an Indian restaurant often leaves you a little over full we decided to accept and skip starters. The waiter then took the drinks order which arrived at the table in dribs and drabs spread over several minutes the last drink being so slow that we had to ask if it had been forgotten. A not very long time later the plates arrived for the mains, but we still hadn't seen the illusive popodums. Because the mains were now ready the popodums were brought out at the same time but thankfully we weren't charged for them. The food itself was everything we hoped for, the flavours were fantastic and the quality was excellent. If you have a big appetite be aware that the portions of rice and naan bread are rather small. Overall the service was disorganised even though the place was not yet busy, and to already be leaving the restaurant after less than an hour felt...
