Had a quick bite while doing some Christmas shopping and errands in Town. Only a table of 3 was available so I was warned I might be asked to move if a smaller table came free, which it did and I didn't mind moving at all, but I was asked to move before the table had even been cleared and it wasn't wiped with a cloth, only the waitress' bare hand to brush off the crumbs! Didn't exactly inspire confidence in their hygiene policy... Had a Cheese & Mushroom Omelette and the Cheese was all down one end but it was otherwise nice and the Chips were lovely and hot. Good sized portions. A bit more expensive than other cafes in the area serving similar food and having 3 prices for different sized teas seems a bit tight (I know boiling a kettle costs more these days but still just one teabag!!), but they're obviously aiming at a more restaurant market, as it appeared to be fully licensed. Was curious but not inspired to try the evening restaurant menu based...

Drawn in by a Google rating of 4.9 stars I was looking forward to a caffeine fix and a bite. sadly it didn't live up to the stars.

Don't get me wrong. On the plus side it was clean and the staff were friendly. Always a good thing. I opted for my usual latte and the most expensive item on their menu ... A stacked chicken burger.

The coffee, as commented by another who saw my photo looked like soapy water, and didn't taste great. Afterwards I saw that it's one of those coffee machines that you press a menu button and it delivers what you pressed.

The chicken burger was ok, but the chicken breast was quite tough...I assume from overcooking.

This is a café, whose menu is 50% breakfast based, is cheaper than a Costa or similar, but not by much. If you like coffee, I would try elsewhere. If you want a full English or any variant and a cup of tea, this may be the place to try.

Star Rating Note: 3 stars means "It's OK" in...

Absolutely gorgeous place with fantastic food, service and atmosphere! It really ticks all boxes. The cheesy garlic bread starter was delicious, could happily eat multiple helpings of that and be quite happy 🤣 the steak on a hot rock was a really unique experience and was so delicious! No cold steak halfway through eating and you can "cook" your steak to your liking - genius! Highly recommend the ribeye! My brother had the t-bone and loved it too though it was HUGE (around 700g or 1.5lb) so felt overly full after! It was absolutely delicious! Blue cheese sauce, chips and salad and everything was lovely too! And the 2 for £13 cocktails (cosmopolitan and espresso martini) were...
