Until my last takeaway order from Klin Klans I had been really pleased with the main item in a dish bar one solitary occasion, but have usually found the accompanying vegetables fairly uninspired. Presentation and service have been pretty good though there was a minor hiccough with my very first order, when one of the starter dishes was left out, but K K very properly gave a free one with the next order . BUT. One of the items ordered for the last takeaway was a laksa dish with a choice of prawns or beef. This was ordered by a Hindu lady staying with us and in keeping with her religious beliefs she cannot eat beef, so ordered prawns. Consequently I was horrified to find, on serving up the food, that prawns had been crossed out on the lid of the container, and beef was written - and supplied. No-one contacted me to ask if it would be alright to make this change although Neville when taking the order had asked for my contact phone number. I immediately called the restaurant but had to leave a voice-mail message. I had no response by the next day so left a second message. Again, no response. On the third day I called the restaurant and asked to speak to someone regarding a complaint. The young lady insisted that she needed my name, but aware of the lack of any reply to my earlier calls I though it better not to give it as I expected that I would be told that the restaurant was too busy to deal with me. Indeed, when after some discussion, none of it heated or rude,, and all very polite to the best of my recollection, I finally gave my name, was told that they were too busy to deal with the complaint at that moment, but would call back. Next day I did get a text in which I was accused of harassing the young lady that took my call, that I had behaved in a similar manner on 3 previous occasions, and as K K had a zero tolerance policy towards bullying I was barred in future! I have now sent one text and two letters to K K asking for an explanation why the dish was changed without asking, what K K would do about this, and also to let me know who considered that they had been bullied by me so that justified I could apologise to them personally and appropriately. Finally I asked that in view of the zero tolerance of bullying, why had I not been barred after the first occasion that they said had happened? To the best of my recollection I have only dealt with Neville over the phone and have never had a problem when collecting an order. And K K's response so far? - nothing to me but a friend was told that I had changed the order!!! That is untrue. A possible explanation could be that someone else ordered the same dish and made the change and I was given the wrong container but in the absence of any direct response from K K I can only guess. In any case their behaviour, first making the change, second ignoring my phone calls, text and letters, and finally and much worse, telling someone that it was a change that I had made, is not the behaviour of a reputable restaurant. So beware - always check what you are being given otherwise you too could find yourself accused...
Read moreI don't know why people give 5 stars here, I guess they don't know how the authentic Thai foods are. I ordered the green curry and the curry way not even greenish. It was white, soo plain. Lack of the proper seasonings. The Bamboo shoots smell awful. It because they didn't change the water very often. I know about this because in my family we use bamboo shoots for foods and they don't smell.
I ordered chicken satay. Gosh, do they know how to make a proper chicken satay? Chicken satay is grilled/barbecued chicken, not fried. Omg it's so embarrassing and awful! Don't believe me? Try get Thai or Southeast Asian people try this dish, they'll think how they make chicken satay in the restaurant is very disrespectful to the food culture in the region!
I've been to many Thai restaurants all over the UK, and this one was the worst Thai restaurants I've ever been! I give 2 stars, at least because the staff are friendly and helpful. For the foods,...
Read moreI’d feel mean giving this place 3 stars but 4 feels generous. We were looking forward to proper Thai food but this was distinctly average.
Not sure where the flavour was to be honest. There was too much rice with my red chicken curry and it was filled out with a lot of bamboo strips. There were also only 3 pieces of squid in my (not inexpensive) starter.
Pad Thai didn’t taste of much and the chunks of chicken in the noodles were HUGE (normally a good thing) but these were dry and tasteless - the noodles too were disproportionate bulked out by bean sprouts.
It’s not the cheapest place so we were expecting a bit more but I think we’ll try somewhere else in...
