Ate in their Secret Garden patio area. Very well laid out, lots of space. Went with 1 year old and they were brilliant with her, called her madame and offered her wine so very good service. The food was excellent, I have the chicken and it was very nicely done. Fries were so tasty my daughter stole them all, apparently the mash she had wasn't great, I ate it and it was really nice. The prices are a little high for our budget, but in general very good (roughly £11-15 a main but excellent portion sizes). The children's food however was very highly priced (roughly £8 a portion I believe), this would be great for my 8 year old who eats good portion sizes, but for my 1 year old and 6 year old this would have been a total waste of money because they wouldn't eat nearly enough to warrant that much. BUT this being said, when I asked for a side of mash and a portion of left over peas so I could give my daughter some of my chicken, they were more than happy to oblige, charging a small amount towards it (tbh this is more than fine as no food is free to them). Will definitely be returning. 4 stars because it is a little pricey and one of the chaps forgot to put the garlic bread on the order so had to wait for it and it came out slightly undercooked....but these things happen. Maybe, if there's a lot on an order they could write everything down if they have to go back inside to put it on the system, or maybe invest in the portable...

This business certainly tries hard, very friendly nice range of beers/lager. On a personal note, chef went out of his (her?) way to cook my mushrooms in a dairy-free sauce. However, when it came to the dessert menu, I asked for the vegan version of the crumble and ice-cream, checking that the ice-cream is plant-based. But the guy said 'the vegan version means we just don't bring the ice cream' (!). When my partner asked the same question on my behalf about the vegan version of sticky toffee pudding and custard, he said 'we just leave out the custard'. Come on, guys ! You can buy this stuff in Tesco! I am not a vegan but often go for vegan options to avoid long discussions about what might contain milk products as the focus shouldn't be on my dairy intolerance when we are celebrating (on this occasion) someone else's birthday. Rather, it should just happen. On the plus side, a lot of us were impressed with the main course - in particular, the steak - and a member of our party who is gluten-free was well catered for. A moment when the waitress spilt hot stilton sauce all over my other half's suit should have elicited an immediate apology - not saying it shouldn't have happened because we all make mistakes. Owner did, eventually, promise to pay the cleaning bill which we didn't take them up on but it was immediately badly handled. Promising place, a bit spoilt on this occasion quite honestly by some...

Me and and partner visited on 22/09/21 I don't often feel compelled to write reviews but everything about our visit was absolutely phenomenal. We was greeted by a lovely friendly Waitress who seated us promptly in the perfect spot. Moving on to the food, it was absolutely fantastic I ordered the mac and cheese main and my partner the rump steak. These meals arrived quickly and was presented beautifully. Upon tasting it just got better and better. The steak was cooked to perfection and melted in the mouth and the mac and cheese was the best I have ever had, it also came with home made garlic ciabatta which topped it off nicely. We ordered strawberry pavlova for dessert and might I add we was way to full for pudding but was so impressed we couldn't resist sampling dessert which again, DID NOT DISAPPOINT. honestly this is the best meal out we have had in a long time so much so that we will be visiting again before we travel home from our holiday. As someone that spent many years in hospitality from bar, Waitress and chef I am so thoroughly impressed with the absolutely smashing service from our server to the food and even our drinks. Thank you so very much for a memorable meal. And if you are reading this wondering whether this is the place you want to eat? Well the answer is an...

Vibe: really friendly staff, lovely interior, seats out the front and a nice patio back garden and dog friendly Cleanliness: great inside and out. Drinks: gin and tonic from a list of 60 gins was £6.50, pretty sure it was a double so very happy with that. There is plenty of choice of other drinks too. Food: we just had bar snacks- chicken wings, prawns and calamari. The chicken wings were nice, cooked perfectly though a little bland and the citrus sour cream was ok; the calamari was fantastic, genuinely the best calamari I have had out of Greece, and the ginger dipping sauce was lovely, would definitely recommend; the prawns were a little disappointing as the lettuce did not look fresh and about 6 of the prawns were full of eggs in the legs, which lead me to believe they hadn't been thoroughly cleaned... as they were shell on this did not worry me too much so just discarded them but would like them served without the prawn eggs next time. They were perfectly cooked and the bloody mary mayonnaise sauce was really nice. The food was very reasonably priced and came at a reasonable speed. Would I return: yes, definitely

Nothing can begin to come close to the disappointment my friends and I had when we came to this place. Their motto of good food, good beer and good cheer should be amended to mediocre food, flat beer and morgue fear. It saddens me that people have considered this a good meal, and a place to be. I’d rather be seen singing Baby Please Don’t Go than in this establishment. Patron beware.
