Little Pickle at the Mill — Restaurant in England

I recently celebrated my 40th birthday at Little Pickle at the Mill and it was absolutely perfect. Karen, Andrew, and the team were warm, relaxed, and made everything feel effortless.

The BBQ was delicious, with locally sourced beef, and I was able to bring my own prosecco with a small corkage fee—such a lovely touch. The venue itself is beautiful: a cosy barn-style interior and a spacious outdoor area where we spent most of the afternoon in the sunshine. There’s a river at the end of the garden, plenty of space for kids to play, and room to sit and relax.

We were never rushed, everything was well taken care of, and we even had live music. I felt truly looked after and completely at ease.

We’ve been going to The Little Pickle for several months now for lunch and flat white coffee. We order sandwiches which are freshly made or baked potato with toppings with a nice salad and served by very friendly staff. The building has a very high vaulted ceiling like a barn which must help stop any echoes and back ground noise which we find peaceful even when they are busy. When it’s warmer its nice to sit outside at the front or on the rear patio over looking the river and the good thing is there are no cars on this property so no car noise just nature and fresh air. Great location prettily placed by the river Allen, with both inside and outside spaces. Most importantly, the food is delicious, great for variety of breakfast/brunch choices or afternoon tea, including beers/wines. Karen was brilliantly accommodating and flexible for our large group's Sunday gathering on the lovely terrace, and the whole team are so welcoming. As an aside, there's the added interest of being within a site known as Walford Mill Craft Centre, which offers opportunity to browse in a shop full of local artists' varied wares and meet and chat with them.
