Have to say we were so disappointed in the service we received at your restaurant for our wedding meal. We were promised a really nice special evening for our guests who had traveled from Belfast, Chorley and France to celebrate our wedding. First we were told we would have the secret bar and boardroom if we choose the meals from Christmas menu. The bar wasn't open so for the half hour we had to go downstairs to the main bar until we asked if someone could take our drink orders. There was no host or any direction to welcome the guests except the waitress which for a special occasion like a wedding their usually is. The first courses which were ment to be warm were all served cold. The mains were warm dry big lumps of what seemed like formed turkey roll not fresh sliced turkey, dry veg, hard cold potatoes on turkey dinner. That definitely wasn't rump of beef it was burnt and tasted like liver and was difficult to cut, as was hard and overcooked. The cauliflower steak was also cold and hard! The gravy was hot tho! The only dishes that were nice where 3 of the deserts but the Christmas pudding was also served cold! Noone came into the room once the desert was served, to see if all was ok or offer a knife for cake. I never said anything at the time as I was bit embarrassed as I did not even eat my meal and was hoping that everyone else's was ok. But now that I have spoken to our guests they said they felt bad saying it wasn't nice as who wants to complain about a wedding meal that has been paid for? I am so upset. I have sent a message to Frankie to say about the whole experience and she offered us to come have a meal so they can show us that they can give a high standard meal but it had just spoilt the evening that we can't get back with our family and friends so we wouldn't really come back for a meal again. It's such a shame as we came for a pizza on the day we booked and was so impressed with the lovely building and the rooms which were offered but we didnt get! The only nice bit was the table was nicely set with all the table decorations that I brought! But after that it just went downhill! It seems a nice place to have a drink but as for the food on that Christmas menu that looks like it's all cheap pre plated heated in microwave food it definitely wasn't worth...

âUnfortunately the food/experience was a let-down for myself on this occasion. My wife ordered the Sea Bass which she enjoyed, however, the Lamb Mixed Grill (my order) was mediocre: the Merguez sausage was laden with gristle, the Lamb Chop was over-cooked (tough and dry) and the salad was mostly onion to the point that all I could taste was onion (for the rest of the meal) resulting in leaving most of the salad.
Afterwards I ordered dessert, asking for the Dark Chocolate Brownie, the waiter later returning to state there were none left. I then asked for the Vanilla CrÚme Brûlée instead and asked for blood orange ice cream to accompany. The waiter returned again, telling me there was none of this ice cream either. I asked for some chocolate ice cream instead. The dessert was delivered with the ice cream.
When the bill was presented, I was charged for two scoops of ice cream (there were two with the dessert), but I had only ordered ice cream and not stated or discussed the quantity. I raised this with the waiter asking why there were two scoops and the charge for it, he blamed the chef as telling him to charge customers this way. He did not address the quantity issue.
Overall a disappointing visit to a restaurant I frequent with my family and friends.â
I then added the below to the âAny further commentsâ:
âYes, before I press submit and realise you don't take any further details, my e-mail address is: xxxxxxxxxxxxxx if you would care to respond.â
That was over four weeks ago and there has been no response. I guess this just adds to their poor service. We wonât...
Read moreWe were a group of 15 and seated upstairs, although a lovely building and decor the atmosphere was âmehâ. The servers were efficient, a couple did stand out in friendliness but in general seemed cool and aloof, robotic and âgoing through the motionsâ but not engaging in any way. We stayed three nights in Knutsford and ate out all three nights, the meal served here was (in my direct family of four) the poorest. Hubby had âmasala fish and chipsâ and he said he may as well be eating regular fish and chips. I had the burger and Iâve definitely had better. Oldest boy was happy with his âbeer battered fish & chipsâ, younger boy had a chop but I donât think will be in a hurry to have again. My mum, whoâs second visit this was, didnât much care for the food the first time round and didnât this time either which is a shame as, out of three nights, she only restaurant dined for one of them and it was this meal that she didnât particularly like it (pizza). If I return to Knutsford I would not eat here again, we had to book our meals months in advance and to be fair on the night I really didnât fancy a burger and would have preferred choosing form the menu (I do get why we have to pre-order itâs just at ÂŁ100 for myself, hubby and two teenage boys it was an expensive, mediocre meal.) Also this was not my restaurant of choice, it was picked...
