Tried the knutsford branch as had discount to use for our Ruby wedding, didn't start well had to stand around a bit before someone asked if they could help, shown to table upstairs on outdoor space right in front of till and cutlery drawers etc. A lot of staff around this area which was a bit distracting, then kept getting wifts of smoking, they couldn't understand why, head waiter? moved us inside which was much better, he did keep checking to see if ok and gave us complimentary champagne each. Thank you to him. Food was lovely in the end . Ordered truffles and expresso but coffee came 10 mins before chocolates. Must say the Manchester branch much more organised, sorry. Tip already in bill so be careful, we would rather pay cash to make sure staff do get it we were told they didn't here.

The atmosphere and the service is lovely and there isn't anything fundamentally wrong with the food. It was just a bit bland. The prawns on the starter were full of flavour but the crab need a lemon or something to spice it up and the pepper wasn't nice to me. Main course was nice enough but in no way had flavour, I'm not sure if they missed the chilli but it was average at best and was dried pasta I swear. Puddings were nice and hime made i believe but lacked the implements to eat them (soup spoons?) All in all very Italian and very nice place I'd eat there if there was a function but I won't be running back. Oh the service was nice and very regular which considering it was crowded was good

A special celebration and a dinner and setting to match. Having recently been to The Grove in Chandler's Cross and being underwhelmed, we were hoping for a better experience in Knutsdord. Great service from start to finish, Cocktails, starters of focaccia, bruschetta and gamberoni were really good and promptly served. Mains of Tuna, Salmon tagliatelle, calzone pizza and my star dish of carpaccio and funghi pizza were all superb. Desserts were, somehow, squeezed in and a very pleasant bill followed! Faultless in quality and service. No higher praise.

A disappointing visit to Piccolinos today. Being local, we regularly go to Piccolinos for Sunday lunch. Today we were sat in front of a large table celebrating 4 birthday parties. The table was very loud and it made it very difficult for us to enjoy our meal. Our waitress did not come to take our order for at least 15 minutes until I finally had to ask her to take our order. She displayed a generally unhelpful attitude. We ordered two roast dinners. She asked if we wanted sides. I said I thought it came with sides. She said it came with veg and Yorkshire puddings but not potatoes. I said it used to come with potatoes. She said she would check. She didn't ask us if we wanted drinks. We had to call after her after she'd started walking away. When the food came, she dumped it down in front of us and said enjoy, literally at the same time as she about turned to walk away. My husband had to get up to ask another server for condiments. When we came to leave the restaurant, the staff had sat people at a table blocking the aisle out of the restaurant. We had to ask these people to move to let us push our pram out of the restaurant. The same waitress who had served us just looked on with a sour face and declined to help. One of the women I'd had to ask to move gave a snarky, rude response as if it was my fault I had to ask them to move because they were blocking the exit. Overall, an unpleasant experience despite the food being...

I have been a regular client of Piccolino Knutsford for a long time (12 years?!), and this particular branch of the chain has been one of my favourite places to eat, maybe THE favourite. Even before the refurb, when the Cheshire plastic crowd would shun the place for Est Est Est / Gusto, I always preferred Piccs for its pure Italian-ness, the special welcome, the careful service, the great food (maybe not THE best, but very good). The whole experience was a special one, I felt like I had spoiled myself and the £50 per head bill was worth every penny. Something has changed. The menu changed last year, traditional italian dishes morphed into something else. Pancetta was added to everything. Still, the staff were attentive enough to help and servce the traditional version from the previous menu. Last night we visited Piccs Knutsford and I regret to say that the whole experience from entering to leaving was poor. The waiters seems uninterested in taking our order, almost disrespectfully blunt and curt. Many times, we had to repeatedly ask for things we had ordered, the olives, the wine, the limoncello, the bill, it went on. The end result was that we all felt a bit flat about the experience. We paid the 10% service charge the added to the bill as a golden handshake, because I very much doubt that we will be going back. Piccolino Knutsford, you have just lost some of your biggest...

If I could give more stars to this amazing place away from city chaos I definitely would! It genuinely was a fantastic experience from beginning to the end! Staff: Incredibly friendly staff, with very welcoming happy energy about them. It creates a very positive vibe in the place and makes you want to stay for longer. All waitresses are incredibly efficient, quick and attentive. Restaurant manager is greeting guests himself and always makes sure that you are happy with your experience. Food: Just incredible. No words needed. Balanced, beautifully served, beautifully cooked. We ordered fish - it was fresh, tender, served with delicious home made sauce. Very nice selection of wine as well. Place: If you want to find something away from every day chaos this is THE place. Decorated in European Mediterranean style with white and turquoise colours, wood, plants this place makes you feel as if you are in Italy or Greece. Terrace has beautiful view over greenery of Knutsford. There are also very strategically placed red lamps above tables so you feel very warm and cosy. Lovely lounge music. I cannot say enough good words about this place. I will definitely come back very soon. Thank you to all who works hard in Piccolino for guests to have such a...
