We had a very bad experience on our visit to Eastern Revive. My wife initially booked the table one week prior to our visit and specifically asked that we were not seated at the centre table as the lighting is very bright and the ambience is very poor and asked for any other table but that one. The staff member assured her that would not be a problem. One week later, on our arrival, a waiter then took us directly to that very table! My wife explained that she had been in to the restaurant one week before, and we did not want our party of 9 to be seated there. The waiter was rude and said they couldn’t guarantee where our party would be seated and that they had 2 large parties due. After further explaining we didn’t want this table another waiter came over and said we could go to another table. We all sat down and then another waiter came over to my wife and started to raise his voice at her, telling her she couldn't choose where she wanted to sit. She remained very calm and said, " I came in one week ago and the only request I made was not the be seated on the centre table”… then, a member of staff walked over and tried to defuse the situation. After the two waiters had spoken to each other in which we presume was urdu he then said to our party "you can sit here but we want this back at 8:30pm”;bearing in mind it was now 6:40pm… it was very embarrassing and there was now something of a very sombre mood, and no one could truly relax. The food arrived and to be fair was relatively nice but nothing special. However, around 7:45pm the waiters were hovering around the table talking to each other loudly in once again what we can presume was urdu, making us feel very uncomfortable. My friend looked across the table and said to me, " l get the feeling they want us out now." I profusely apologised that the experience I had promised them had been a great disappointment. Upon my visit, I realised the waiters, apart from one charming young man had treated my wife with disregard. My advice to one whom may be wanting an evening with friends and a lovely atmosphere and good food is to go a few doors down to shamoli where you will be treated with respect especially if you...
Read moreWe ordered on a busy Friday night during quarantine for collection. The food was generally good quality and very tasty, especially the curry. 60 minute wait due to how busy they were but this was fine.
The only issue that we had was miscommunication over the phone... I asked for 6 onion bhajis and they put through 18 and charged us extra for this (£29.50 for all) Our bill came to over £75.
Once we got home, I realised that there were 18 onion bhajis, which in fact was 6 portions - also missing a portion of egg fried rice from the order. I called Eastern Revive and explained this, they did not apologise and said I should have been clearer over the phone. At this time, I didn’t want to have any confrontation and explained that I asked for 6 - not 6 portions and this should have been clarified. He advised that I can come back to the shop (10 mile journey) and pick up the rice that they missed or mention it next time and they will ‘discount’ me?
This is now 2 days later and all 3 of us who ate that night have been left with very bad stomach ache - I would not review otherwise but I’m still quite ticked off about it.
Overall, I will not be returning due to the unsympathetic approach both members of staff and the unbelievable miscommunication.
Finally, the onion bhajis were extremely dry which was...

I recently dined at Eastern Revive, and while the experience wasn’t entirely negative, it left a bit to be desired. The food overall was decent, but it didn’t stand out as exceptional. One of the bigger disappointments was the garlic naan bread, which was very dry and lacked the softness you’d expect from a freshly prepared naan. This small but important detail affected the meal’s overall appeal.
Another issue was the price of a pint of Coke at £6.60, which felt excessive and out of line with expectations. Additionally, the service charge, which was not mentioned upfront, felt like an unpleasant surprise.
The staff were polite, but the combination of minor disappointments added up. Overall, Eastern Revive could be a pleasant spot, but with a few tweaks, especially in pricing and certain menu items, it could offer a much...
