Taste of South India at Its Finest! I visited Madrasi so many times, and I must say, it was an absolute delight! The highlight of my visit was undoubtedly the Masala Dosa— the best I’ve ever had! The dosa was perfectly crisp on the outside, with just the right balance of crunch and softness. The potato filling was flavourful, making every bite a burst of South Indian goodness. But what truly elevated the experience were the sambar was absolutely rich and packed with authentic flavours, while the coconut chutney was fresh, and the perfect complement to the dosa. Every element of the dish was prepared with such care and authenticity that I felt like I had been transported straight to a bustling eatery in South India. I also tried their other dishes as well it was also delicious. Beyond the food, the service was impeccable. The staff was very friendly, attentive, and passionate which made the experience even more enjoyable. If you’re a fan of South Indian food or just someone who loves exploring new flavors, Madrasi is an absolute must-visit! Highly recommend!

Casual café vibes for superb South Indian food. Very much attracted to this place because of the dosa, the idli and a great selection of vegan options and decided to try on a whim when we were passing, unknown to us that it had been open less than a week. Certainly one of the best food decisions of my life! I had the chilli idli starter. It was the size of a main course, and extremely tasty. The idli were soft and fluffy and filling. I also might have had veggie samosas too! 4 pieces, which is excellent, as other South Asian food establishments often only give you 2! For my main, I had the mixed veg Uthappam. Not gonna lie, after my two starters, it was a struggle to finish. Happily, a doggy bag was provided and I was able to have a tasty lunch the next day. Of note: all the dishes here are served medium spiced. I think this is definitely on the hotter end of the medium spiced spectrum, because I broke a sweat and my nose ran. Absolutely not an issue for my spice demon child though! I'm definitely recommending this place to my veggie and vegan mates.

Madrasi Taste of South Indian one of the most authentic South Indian restaurants you’ll find in the Brighton & Hove area. Located in the heart of Hove, just a short hop from central Brighton, this place is a true gem if you’re craving real South Indian flavours—especially their dosas, which are absolutely spot-on and hard to find elsewhere around here. We’ve been here multiple times, and every visit has been consistently great. The menu offers a wide range of dishes—from crispy starters to comforting mains—and the food is always fresh, well-spiced, and very reasonably priced. You really do get excellent value for the quality. The restaurant does get busy on weekends, so it’s best to book ahead. The staff are friendly and efficient, and the overall vibe is relaxed but authentic. If you’re after a proper taste of South India in Brighton or Hove, this is the place. Highly recommend!

A Hidden Gem for South Indian Food in Hove!

I had the absolute pleasure of dining at MADRASI'S Taste of South India, and I can confidently say it was one of the best South Indian meals I’ve had in England. From the moment I walked in, the service was warm and welcoming, making me feel right at home.

Now, the food—simply outstanding! The dosa was perfectly crispy on the outside, soft inside, and packed with authentic flavors. I tried the Masala Dosa and was blown away by the delicious potato filling and the flavorful chutneys and sambar on the side. Every bite transported me straight to South India!

What really impressed me was the affordability. Given the high quality of food and generous portion sizes, the prices were more than reasonable. It’s rare to find such an authentic experience without breaking the bank.

The service was fantastic—friendly, attentive, and quick without feeling rushed. The staff were more than happy to recommend dishes and explain the menu, which made the experience even better.

Overall, MADRASI'S is an absolute must-visit. Whether you're a longtime lover of South Indian food or trying it for the first time, this place will not disappoint. I will definitely be back for more! Thank you for a...
