Second and last one , never again We had an reservation just after opening, back in November the service was average and food OK, except for some items like Frozen sourdough and desserts needs improved. the service was little slow and lack of training however as all new places is normal cannot be perfect . We back after more than a month because had Xmas reservation. The service was improved as little but no too much, still the waitress was unable to deal with complaints. The Beef soup was lovely, sorbet and main meal was good as well, the big mess and disaster again was the dessert. Baked Alaska, thick pastry base, the meringue was melted and you can feel the granulate sugar didn't was dissolved ( feeling granulated sugar on meringue is very unprofessional ) Meringue should be Italian to stay on place and golden brown outside . The Christmas pudding was rubbery ( obviously from packed and cheap one ) At the end the mince pies was served cold as the fridge instead of warm Still they charged you 10% service fee, on an restaurant advertising 4 Star ? where really by second experience is 2 stars Again the staff must be trained how deal with complaints and the pastry chef need replaced. We not recommend and never come back

**A Refined Culinary Experience at Marco Pierre White Steakhouse Bar & Grill, Bridgwater** The atmosphere strikes a balance between refined and relaxed—a hallmark of well-executed brand alignment in the hospitality space. Portion sizes were thoughtfully curated: smaller, well-composed starters served as a good prelude to the generously portioned main courses, allowing the meal to progress at an organic pace. Desserts were a particular highlight—visually boutique and layered with well-developed flavours, clearly showcasing attention to the plating. Service throughout was lovely. With a genuinely hospitable front-of-house team— including the waitresses, the bar staff, and the restaurant manager—all offering attentive, yet unobtrusive service, with each playing a visible role in enhancing quiet experience. It’s clear that engagement is trained and tailored to be embedded within the team. Overall, Marco Pierre White Bridgwater delivers a strong expression of brand-led dining—both elevated and accessible. An ideal destination for those seeking quality without pretension.

Went for Sunday lunch as a trial experience, overall above average but not as good as it should be hence the 4*. The restaurant is modern, well spaced and open but with dividers for sound reduction and a more private feel. The tables were cleaned well after guests departed but like far too many other places the floors are ignored until the end of the day - not nice when you look down or need to place a bag on the floor and all you can see is bits of food… another fault is the walls near the tables, in some places they have become splashed with drink/food/other from the table and stained with grease etc. Why are the walls not painted in wipe down waterproof paint! The damaged areas are well bad and ruin the feel of the restaurant, also housekeeping needs to check the light fixtures for cobwebs… The food was good and hot, my wife’s pork very good (no crackling:(), my beef was very tasty but not really enough once I had taken out the sections of gristle that is common in sirloin. We will be back but not in a rush.

So once again greeted by very disappointing service, walked in the bar today, just to have a bottle of wine, it’s our anniversary and we’ve just got back from spending a lovely day with our daughter and thought we’d give this restaurant one more chance -finish off with a nice bottle of wine - bad idea!!! Having waited at the deserted bar for several minutes, a young woman looking very efficient entered the bar walked straight to the till and proceeded to tap it in a very determined manner not once looking up to me, I waited for a while looking at her for eye contact, for a fair while, which was non existent. I looked to my husband and said - shall we walk to another bar at which point the young woman looked up, I said - she can’t even say hello - we walked out and took our custom elsewhere!! £30 odd for a bottle of wine which is very nice and usually the bar service is very good, not tonight. Unfortunately, not an isolated incident this year in May for my birthday, we went for a meal, certainly not the greatest service, the staff (not their fault) are not trained, and don’t present dishes as they should, this I’m fine with, but having staff setting up for breakfast and clearing up so they can finish early with hoover going etc., instead of serving paying customers is not good, then it came to coffee ….. well what can I say, we watched it being made, and there it sat for the next 1/4 hour, no one brought us the coffee, then a staff member suddenly realised and was going to bring it over, £167 later!! No thank you, we sent it away!!

Last year, went for my birthday, all pretty much the same, food to an acceptable standard, but nothing exceptional, again, hoover and clattering setting tables etc., then when it came to coffee time, we ordered and were were greeted by slamming banging and muttering, as at 9 pm the coffee machine had been shut down!!! If you take bookings then keep your coffee bar open!! I asked if there was a problem and the very flustered staff member assured us there was not - really? I would not normally make a review like this but sometimes, enough is enough and yes perhaps I should I have complained before - but this time I will be voting with my feet!!!!

It could be exceptional, with just a few tweaks, staff training being one of them, acknowledging customers and attending to the paying customers needs instead of concentrating on packing up and going home, very expensive experience for this part of the country - which I don’t mind paying if it’s worth it...

It was my second visit there. The service on the first visit was average at best. The food was decent but small portions, in particular the steak size. Be ready for a 15 minute wait for your first drink, it sits on the bar getting warm for ten minutes before someone remembers to bring it over. Last nights visit was prebooked, there were around 10 empty tables and yet they wanted to seat us on a cramped table six inches away from another couple. The same long wait for a drink. I ordered the 16 ounce T-bone ( the biggest steak on the menu) , I prefer fillet but at only 8 ounces it wouldn't be enough. As it turned out the T-bone was fatty and tough with about 8oz of waste. The service had gone down from average. Things like being brought a sweet intended for another table before we'd had a starter. One steak knife brought when we both ordered steak. Etc. When the bill arrived they had awarded themselves 10% tip which wasn't optional. So I guess there's no incentive to improve on the service you provide if you know you're getting 10% regardless. Not the food or the service was suitable for what should be a decent restaurant. I know Marco Pierre White has not been to the restaurant yet, maybe he will sort it out. I won't be going back for a third time if it...
