Mary Lambert food & beverage — Restaurant in England

Visited today for take out fish and chips, I pre ordered 2 half lots and 2 cartons of peas , they were both put in very small cartons the size of the fish was absolutely tiny and about 10 chips in total, yes they a half lot but usually if you go to any other local fish shop and get a half lot they are always a decent size portion and good size fish, the portion size would not have filled a child , I asked for extra portion of chips so it would make the meal bigger , the total of the meal came to £23.88 the food was put on the counter I asked if they could be put in a bag they said that would be an extra 10p ,which after spending £23 on two tiny portions of half lots i refused , i was totally gob smacked they wanted 10p, the chips were dry and cold but i must say the fish was lovely but i will definitely not be returning , i will stick to a good old local fish shop, ive added 2 stars because i must say the fish was very nice even though it was that small 3 mouthfuls and the...

I've allways liked mary lamberts, i go in regularly for lunch and for corned beef slices, however i did visit yesterday 11th june 2018 a tall thin man served me with 2 corned beef slices and 1 brownie, in which he touched the foods with NO gloves on with bare hands, now we all know about food and hygiene that if a person has a virus etc and touched food then it is contaminated, i certainly don;t want the food i am going to consume touched by anyone's hands at all, needless to say it was a waste of my money as i had to throw the food away when i got home, my only regret is that i was not brave enough to tell him i didn't want the foods he had touched. i will never go to mary...

It has a sort of wine cellar appeal to it on the outside. Looks as if it would be expensive, which is why my little pauper butt has never been in before. Different story on the inside. Really friendly and welcoming staff you don't feel as if they're looking down at you at all. Cleanliness is amazing, the second someone left the building they were cleaning the table. I got quiche with amazing coleslaw and salad £2.99, which was so soft and not lacking in the cheese BONUS. Music was soft and not overbearing. The waitress was absolutely the most patient person I've ever met with my mother's intolerances and never ending questions haha
