McDonald's — Restaurant in England

Where do I begin? Bodmin McDonalds is by far the worst I have ever experienced and after nearly two years of poor service, I felt compelled to leave this review. Today, I simply had enough of the total lack of care for customers and poor delivery of your product.

Let me start by saying that McDonalds is synonymous with fast food, at a fair price with efficient and polite customer service. That is until you arrive at Bodmin McDonalds drive thru. I usually pass through the drive thru every morning at around 7.30am. Often I am one of the only vehicles there and I order a large cappucino every morning, sometimes twice a day if I fancy one for the way home.

When you approach the ordering screen, I instantly know I am about to get asked "Have you ordered on the app today?" - NO, I haven't ordered on the app because its useless and no faster than just going through the drive thru or in store because you cannot lodge yourself as ready to collect until you arrive in the vicinity so the app is useless and pointless unless it adds speed to the experience, which it does not.

Secondly, being one of the only cars in the drive thru at that time, the speed at which I get served is abysmal, sometimes 3-4 minutes. It's as though your staff aren't "expecting" there to be customers and therefore aren't in any form of hurry to deliver good customer service for a simple order - a Large Cappucino.

Then when you arrive at the payments window, invariably, there is no one there. No doubt in the kitchen having a chat despite having just taken the order. It's not as though there are queue of cars being served ahead of me so there's no excuse to be waiting at the payments window beyond 10-20 seconds.

Having then paid and creeping towards the collections window, quite often there is no one there and it can take anywhere between 1-4 minutes to retrieve the coffee - again, considering the restaurant or drive thru are not busy at this time, there seems little excuse.

Don't get me wrong, some of the staff are good and they do offer good and polite customer service but there are others who can barely speak, as though they are not even humans! Some refer to me as "mate", NO, I am not your mate, I am a paying customer and I have no idea who you are. It's just terrible customer service on the most part.

But more worrying, i now wish to inform you of today's experience. I approach the ordering booth at a similar time to always. there is one car at the payments window and no other cars, therefore, one might assume a smooth and simple transaction but it was far from that. After being sat there for 4 minutes, I am yet to be served so I beep my horn. An aggressive female barks "I'll be with you in a moment" OK, fair enough, so I wait a little longer. In the second lane approaches another vehicle and gets served instantly. Getting angrier, I beep my horn again to be told by the same female "I'm on my own". A second vehicle arrives in the second lane and gets served instantly, then a third!

I beep again, the same female barks "What is your problem, I told you I was on my own". I say "You are clearly not on your own as three other cars have ordered in the second lane whilst I sit here for what should be a simple order of a Large Cappucino".....getting argumentative, the female says "It's no my problem". I tell her to forget it, I don't want my order and I will NEVER come back again.

To conclude, I suspect coffee sales are one of your most frequent and profitable sales. It is easy to press a button on a machine, charge £1.99 for something that costs you 20 pence. A Large Cappucino is only ever 3/4 full to the brim anyway so it's not really a "Large" and the Bodmin McDonalds is painfully slow whatever the scenario. If there are more than 3 cars waiting, lookout, you know you're in for a 20 minute wait because the staff just don't care and they do not subscribe to the Mcdonalds model which works so well in many other stores.

Orders are wrong more often than they're right absolutely awful, avoid!!

Order at the drive thru the other day was wrong and different items received. Then made 2 uber eats orders in a row, both just for a couple of breakfast muffins, yesterday the time kept getting pushed back until an hour and 15 minutes after when the order was made and it still hadn't even been picked up so we had to cancel as had somewhere to be. Same again today, over an hour and a half it was estimated in the end and then they just cancelled the order!! Placed the order at 8am when they just opened so surely there should be a priority system in place. Really really poor. If they can't handle the uber eats orders as well as restaurant ones, don't offer it out. The same with drive thru - countless orders have been wrong missing or different items received and made to wait ages for it. Don't know how they can get it all so terribly wrong.

Hope they look at these reviews and sort it out as lots of people are having the same issues. Don't waste your time and money!! I've never known a mcdonalds like it, I often go to the Hayle and Fraddon one and I've had a missing part of an order maybe once or twice over all these years. But this is every single time. Train your staff!! I once asked when ordering a coffee at the paying window how to use the app for the loyalty scheme and the young blonde woman rudely said "I don't know I don't use the app to buy coffee". Laughable, so so bad and such basic mistakes being made like missing whole items...

Yesterday It was my daughters 12th birthday and she wanted McDonald's so I drove about 30 minutes to get there. I only had cash on me so I asked a member of staff how to order if I was paying by cash and he very kindly helped me order via touch screen. My number came up on the screen saying that it was being prepared so I waited and waited and waited. Lots of people came in and ordered and actually finished their meals but still it said on the screen my order was being prepared, after about 40 minutes my order number just disappeared from the screen so I asked a member of staff what was happening but nobody seemed to have a clue about anything, eventually I was told because I was paying cash it wouldn't come up on the screen ( even though it was on the screen for 40 minutes! ) and my order hasn't been taken. It was a large order about £35 so I asked if I could get some discount and I was told by the useless manager that I couldn't get any discount and basically it was my fault because I was paying by cash (even though I asked a member of staff to help me place the order) the place is so disorganized and the manager should be sacked with her attitude. Thanks Bodmin McDonald's...I wasted about 3 hours when it was my daughters birthday and walked out and went to KFC and was served within 5 minutes! The place needs...
