Brought here on a Saturday evening while staying with friends who live locally. Michael and his team were really friendly from the outset and, despite the restaurant being really busy, the service was very efficient and attentive. Nice decor and a really nice atmosphere. All four of us chose different options and we all thoroughly enjoyed what we had. I haven’t been to a Chinese restaurant for years but this place far exceeded my expectations. Highly recommended.

Great example of how a Chinese restaurant should look and be run. The service was impeccable and the place was spotless, warm and welcoming. As for the food, there's nothing inspired or new on the menu, but everything was cooked to a high standard. All the dishes light and flavoursome, no over sticky sweet sauces and greasy textures as can be found is some lesser restaurants. Definitely one of the best in the area and would recommend whole heartedly....... 4.5*

Enjoyed a brilliant meal at Mr Chong's with the new Malaysian specials which were the Char Kway Teow and Nasi Lemak. We also loved the Tom Yum soup. Along with two versions of the scallops. Very attentive and calm atmosphere. Thank you Alice, Joseph and Michael for your great service. Can't wait to come back again soon.

We came here in November when I was 9 months pregnant and it was a celebration for mine and my brothers birthday. We were a party of 6. We were told we would have the table for 2 hours. The food was good but expensive and we were very unhappy that we were rushed through the entire meal. The people who were taking the table after us arrived early and although we all still had nearly full drinks and people were still picking at food and still had the table for another 30 minutes, the bill was put down in front of us (without us asking) and coats were brought out to us (without us asking) it was incredibly rude and we felt pushed out. It was really uncomfortable. I appreciate that they need to get the table ready but the other party arrived 30 minutes early and we were told we had it for 2 hours. It was terrible service. Definitely won't...

This restaurant was highly recommended by locals, however, I have to admit that I was a little disappointed and we'd never return.

We waited for quite a while for drinks service and to place our orders, they seemed to want to serve larger groups first, who arrived after us.

The staff were lovely, friendly and really professional, but Mr Chong himself seemed stressed, inpatient and grumpy!

To start I had Satay Chicken Skewers. The consistency of the chicken was sinewy and stringy, it was very unpleasant. I struggled to eat them, they were quite revolting.

For main I had the Salt & Pepper Chicken, which was literally a plate full of rock hard, crunchy, dry coatings, I couldn't quite find any succulent chicken anywhere?

Expensive, especially the soft drinks. The food was poor. Atmosphere was nice but I would...

Disappointed in the food. Not been for a year. Chicken fried rice was boiled rice and boiled chicken, no seasoning. Complained. They said it was fried!! Prawn Malaysian chow mein was prawns in chilli sweet sauce, very nice prawns but soft noodlesc on side! When asked where bamboo shoots, water chestnuts and bean sprouts were ? Was told customers asked for those ingredients to be removed, so they don't add them any more !! SO it's not chow mein then!! Lovely decor, friendly efficient staff. Very clean restaurant. But food let it down. Because long time before I try agsin. Used to be very authentic Chinese fresh food. Spoilt our wedding...
