MR. COD — Restaurant in England

Don’t waste your time. Just got dinner home after a long wait and wish I read the reviews beforehand.

Not traditional fish and chips. Pie was cold in the middle, I don’t think you can even call the sausage battered and I have never seen so many green chips! Out of a polystyrene box and not paper, this place is all kinds of wrong!

Go somewhere else and save yourself an expensive mistake. There is a proper chippy 1 minute walk from this hole. I wish I went with what I know!

I should have noticed when I first walked in and the staff seem surprised there...

The chips were reheated/recooked in the fryer so were hard & barely edible (I literally watched the guy put some precooked chips back in the fryer for a few minutes & serve them to me), the cod seemed to be a frozen pre battered fillet which was just heated up in the fryer. It was by far the worst fish & chips I’ve had in a long long time. I could understand a place that has been around a while falling into bad habits, but how can a place that’s just opened be so bad

After reading some of these reviews I was alittle unsure weather to try the new Mr cods.. However I'm glad I did, the chips were soft fresh and very tasty, the cod was a generous size and the batter was light an tasty not oily or greasy, My children had the sausage and chicken nuggets which they really enjoyed.. Well done keep up the good work and we will definitely return, I think its definitely worth a try and make up your own mind I'm glad we didn't listen to...
