Small portion, poor food, quick service.
Firstly I don't really review service but felt the need after tonight.
So tonight went with a friend for dinner. Was seated quickly- was 8 pm Saturday night. The waiter was attentive and took our order.
Food that arrived was poor at best. It arrived withi5-10 minutes of ordering. They did make an effort with presentation and had a good decorative salad and separate sauce. I had the Thai fish cakes and complained to the waitress who said they are meant to be like that. I said they were too chewy and spongy and usually when I had them they were not like this. Also, the spring rolls almost taste burn. They weren't browned very much but the flavour was burnt but ok. However, the deep fried corn cake was delicious- very tasty. It was crispy- not burnt or too greasy.
I then ordered the beef massaman curry. This arrived 5-10 minutes after the starter. The curry was in a small bowl. It wasn't a deep wide dish. It was roughly 7cm by 7cm. I was expecting a bigger dish perhaps for the curry. The curry sauce was pleasant and had few pieces of potato and onion. However, the beef was sliced and very chewy. I mentioned this to the waiter and she asked if there was anything else I would like. I asked if the chicken massaman would be better and he said he was not sure so I declined another order.
When the bill came they took 10% off but I wished I asked to remove the massaman and the crab cakes as only had one crab cake (put of 5) and a couple of mouthfuls of massaman.
The price was competitive but I did not enjoy the food apart from the deep-fried corn cake that was delicious. The male waiter was attentive and apologetic however the female waiter seemed to blame me for not liking the rubbery fish cake that I did not appreciate.
Overall, poor to be honest- was a shame as I was hoping to enjoy this as I love Thai food. Will not...
Read moreReally bad service ! Me and my husband recently had our wedding dinner here with family and friends. We were able to have the restaurant private for the function between the hours of 12 and 4pm. We had planned this since last year and regardless of the countless emails and arrangements the restaurant staff were still unable to fulfill the requests and agreements made on the actual day. The restaurant owners are lovely. However, they are very unorganised even with sufficient help. As agreed and paid for (in advance) no prawn crackers or jugs of water where laid on the tables for guests arrival, drinks where not offered to guests and served to them when they were seated (even though they charge a 10% service charge for drinks and then food). Even though they had a list and seating plan for everyone’s order they began taking the cards I had prepared for guests with their name and food orders and telling them that they would not get food unless they paid there service charge. This included the kids. Even though it was agreed that they would pay when they were seated and ordered there drink to make it more pleasant. Very embarrassing! People were receiving their starter and mains at different times. Some children not receiving their food and watching the adults eat. As the bride I had to give my daughter some of my meal because they took too long to give it to her. The man who was serving was clearly so overwhelmed to the point he began being rude to guests. The food was not as nice as it was when we trialed it out a few months before. Very disappointed in the restaurant as it seemed so credible when making the reservation. It didn’t spoil our wedding day as we had such a great time by just ignoring their mess and family helped with the restaurants organisation issues but I wouldn’t recommend them to friends and family,...
Read moreThai food is very close to my heart so I was already very excited to try this place. I can assure you that I was not disappointed. My friend and I ordered the following: Prawn Red Thai curry (extra spicy), Beef Panang Curry (extra spicy), coconut rice, egg fried rice, mixed starters for two and finally a chicken pad thai. The mixed starters came with 2 chicken satay, 2 sesame prawn toast, 2 golden parcels, 2 prawn spring rolls and a small salad, the starters were a perfect start to what eas a perfect meal, everything was cooked well and had some great dipping sauces to go with it. The red curry was bursting with flavour and every bite just got better and better, the prawns were plump juicy and so fresh, they're cooked to perfection and had no sign of being overcooked. The veg were tender yet left slightly crunchy, just perfect, we asked for a little bit extra spice and were given just that. The Panang curry was also very tasty, fill of flavour, the taste of ginger, coconut and fish sauce surged throughout and the dish was delectable, the beef was cooked to tender perfection and melted in my mouth like butter. The coconut rice and egg fried rice were cooked perfectly worh amazing flavour and accompanied the curries well. Finally the chicken pad thai, this was the star dish and was so good that I almost finished it within 1 minute, the vegetables and chicken were seasoned so well and the dish itself had so many different flavour profiles and textures. If you go there you have to order it. Overall the experience was amazing, customer service was second to none and the decor/atmosphere was also very mature and satisfying. I rate this restaurant a 10/10 as there was literally nothing wrong with it....
