My friends and I have been going to No.5 regularly for breakfast, normally between 6 and 10 of us with an average spend of about £5 each. The food is normally very good. Today, while there was nothing wrong with the food, the customer service left a rather sour taste. One of my friends, a pensioner (I'm sure she won't mind me saying) queried the price of the toast and marmalade as it said £1.95 on the menu and she was being charged £2.45, this resulted in being told 'that's the price, pay it or don't have it'. My friend paid and came to join us somewhat shell shocked to say the least. I think the owner heard my friend telling us what had happened as she came over, not to apologise, but to slap 50p on the table next to my friend and say that £2.45 is the price, the menu price was wrong but you will be charged £2.45 in future. Of course my friend won't be paying £2.45 in future, or any other price, as No. 5 has lost the custom of all of us. There was no need for the attitude that was taken or for the rudeness of the treatment my friend received. One of us went and spoke to the owner regarding her customer service to be told that No.5 was a 'small business' and so we had to assume from that that 50p really mattered to 'small businesses'. Well I dare say it does, but politeness costs nothing, and for the sake of 50p this small business will lose between £30 and £50 per week. I know everyone can be having a bad day and snap sometimes, we are all human. This person had the chance to redeem the situation and instead made it worse. Nice food, shame about the...
Read moreFirst time attending here even though I’ve lived in Shifnal for 5 years now and to be honest I kinda regret attending. Upon first arriving I informed them that I needed a table for 1 to which woman approach the desk and said ok let me see then out of no where a woman who was making drinks said I don’t think that’s possible really we don’t have space to which from what I could see upstairs there was loads of tables available. I was asked if I wanted food as well I said no just drinks please so they sat me downstairs. Table service was good the woman was very polite and patience, food selection looked very good but I wasn’t sat at a table to allow food. My drink selection was very nice and made well no music and was very cold down stairs, the chair I was sat in was uncomfortable & looks ready for the skip !
Would I attend again ?
No thank you considering it’s my first time attending a title respect goes a long way
There was definitely no music playing at all ! & i also like the fact Mr Delamotte you try to cover every bit of my review and not just accept partly that you didn’t exceed the standards most other shops provide. As for the food part I mentioned yes I did say I didn’t want food but to be given a. Food menu didn’t make sense considering I was asked what I wanted.
If your attitude towards you customers wasn’t so bad you’d maybe wouldn’t get such bad reviews like you have in past ? Shall we also address the point that your purple lights outside the front of shop at blinding when people...
Read moreMy aunty took me here today after just moving to the area to try something new. Ordered a cake, coffees and a milkshake for me and my daughter to share. (as there was only a couple of sandwiches left to choose from, understandable if it had been busy) cakes and coffees came, me and my daughter sat waiting for our milkshake for around 45mins After waiting so long my aunty asked how long it would be and they said another half an hour!! I decided we wouldn't wait as my 3 year old and 1 year old were getting agitated I calmly asked for a refund to be met by the rudest staff I think I have ever spoken to. I was told that everyone was told there was an hour and a half wait on a milkshake!! I don't think I'd be waiting an hour and a half with 2 children and I definitely did not get told!!!! the attitude of the lady making the milkshakes was a joke. as a customer I don't think asking for a refund for something I haven't had is not a big deal. we paid for the rest of coffees and cakes etc. Also then I think it was the manager was also very rude to me, hardly a decent manager!! (I'm sure he mumbled "give her a refund and get her our of here") Overall I can honestly say my worst experience I have ever had in a restaurant/coffee shop! AVOID.
my word of advice is sack the woman with attitude and buy a few more blenders. not...
