Minhs Restaurant — Restaurant in England

I used to use Minhs Restaurant for my take-away meals as food always seemed quite good, I only stopped when the FSA rated it 2 out of 5. But I recently had to visit the restaurant with a group of people who pre-booked it, so had to attend. Like the take-aways I had before the food was good quality with a nice flavour. The restaurant eating area was clean and tidy and the staff were nice.

The only negatives I can state for eating in the restaurant is the over-the-top prices and very small portions of food. I was shocked to see that a fruit cordial drink (about 97% water) cost several pounds! Other drinks were very over priced too! The food itself was quite overpriced. I had a Chicken Curry with Egg Fried Rice and the curry was served is a small cone shapes bowl about 5 inches wide, so was the rice, so not the biggest serving for the price. The plate they give you to eat from was much smaller than a standard dinner plate and not much larger than a saucer, very odd! Obviously, I cannot comment on the standards in the kitchen area as we customers don't get to see that.

Again, nice food and dining area, however I would not visit again as it's not good value for money. I could have visited a Toby Carvery 3 or more times for a much larger meal and my total bill would...

We dined at Minh’s this evening as a party of seven and, regrettably, our experience was extremely disappointing. The service did not meet even basic expectations. Rice and chips were brought out first, but the main dishes did not arrive until approximately 20 minutes later, by which time the sides were cold. Furthermore, no cutlery was provided with the mains, and when we requested some, we were told staff were busy, despite the restaurant being only half full.

Of the seven main dishes ordered, three were of such poor quality that they were left largely uneaten, When we raised these concerns with the manager, there was no genuine interest shown and no effort made to resolve the situation. We also made it clear that we would not be returning, but this was met with indifference. It is worth noting that the table next to us also raised complaints and similarly stated they would not return.

In light of the poor service, long delays, and unsatisfactory standard of food, we cannot recommend Minh’s and will not...

Superb dining experience. My wife and I were staying in Shifnal while attending a 2 day conference at the Telford International Exhibition Centre. We chanced upon Minhs after parking on the main street and walking both sides of the road. We couldn't have chosen better!

The staff were friendly and attentive - apologetic for how busy they were, even though the wait times were reasonable and the staff responsive.

But the test of a restaurant was the food, and in this department they were exceptional. The crispy aromatic duck portions were very generous and cooked perfectly. The hot & sour soup and chicken & sweetcorn soup were delicious and refreshingly not laden with MSG. The Cantonese ribs were great, prawn toast generous and succulent, battered beef was melt in the mouth tender, and the Yeung Chow special fried rice was rich in meat and a single portion fed us both with enough for a doggie bag!

All in all, a great experience, very highly recommended. We'll be back at next...
