Very disappointed tonight. As a continued customer I have ordered many meals from here as the food is usually great. However the service and quality has definitely slipped lately which is a real shame. The restaurant used to be bustling and you couldn’t get a seat. We definitely have to book in advance.

Tonight the system glitched on me twice and unfortunately ordered the wrong meat for the same dish. As someone that doesn’t eat this meat we were disappointed but thought as regular customers maybe they would meet us half way? Just give us the right meat or even a children's portion or even a discount? Something.. but nope the computer told them that so tough for the customer. While I appreciate that they wouldn’t know that I was telling the truth I feel that as a regular customer I wasn’t honoured with the curtesy of kindness. As a business owner I appreciate my customers and will always try to help out where I can even if the mistake wasn’t mine. I wasn’t even told I was being passed onto someone else on the phone ie the manager, I was kept on hold for ages before that I thought maybe she had just gone. I felt like they didn’t care and I was just annoying them. They were both curt and short with me. There maybe a reason this restaurant is not full anymore and maybe its not just the handsy owner.

They have things in the menu in the desert section that they don’t do which they need to remove so that’s frustrating. The sauce pots for desert were all over the place and really the food is over priced chicken and rice!

In the past the food hasn’t been ready and I have had to sit and wait 10-15 mins with no offer of even a soft drink! I get more than that when I drop my car off at the garage!

This place deserves all the positive reviews it gets. I was a little worried when I first got there as the server who seated us ( who appeared to be very young and inexperienced) made me feel quite uncomfortable and was not friendly at all which I was not expecting from the reviews here. However as soon as I was seated the person taking my order was absolutely lovely and I was then helped by the absolutely amazing Cristina who made us feel so welcome. The food was some of the best Turkish food I’ve ever eaten! The portion size was amazing value for money and the quality and tenderness of the meat were superb ! We were so impressed that we came back the following day. We ordered take away that time and the wait time for that was only 20 mins and despite attending on a Saturday night we didn’t have to wait a long time for our food at all. Everything was super quick. If anyone is staying at whittlebury hall ( or perhaps any hotel in the area) I would recommend you get out of the hotel and come here. It is fantastic! Amazing food. Terrible service from start to finish. Cant pay cash (card only) because they don't keep any change. I am advised that my dish comes with rice which is great. I am then advised that as I have paid £2.95 for additional sautéed potatoes, I have forfeited my right to receive the originally included scoop of white rice. I am advised I need to pay another £4 to receive the rice that is included with the dish as standard. I can't understand this as it's originally included, and I have added another item which I've also paid for. The surly staff won't give me the scoop of white rice without paying a second uncharge for something that is originally included. In the end the conversation was so ridiculous I took the mediocre food and walked out without paying the £4 for the rice that was included but I accidentally gave up by buying potatoes. Madness would really not recommend these ridiculous people....
