Stumbled on this little gem by total accident - it was stormy outside with rain and wind and we needed somewhere warm to half a cuppa and by kids some breakfast. Reading the previous review, they said staff were not engaging - honestly it was the complete opposite for us, the ladies had such warmth and friendlyness that my 10 year old asked why everybody in Middlesbrough was so friendly? (We are from London and was visiting for work) The food was as good as any other cafe and the selection was plentiful. I did think the portions however were a on the smaller side perhaps but honestly you couldn't fault it for anything else. Nice chilled out vibe and slow pace make for welcome respite from the hussle and bussle outside, the staff are super friendly too. Not sure about the avocado/mint colour scheme inside though but each to their own! This cafe is Middlesbrough town...
Read moreGreat value and would recommend. Its Cooplands cafe so you can get all the usual cakes etc. We had roast beef with Yorkshire pudding and at £5.50 each it was very reasonable. The portion sizes weren't huge but ideal for a lunch time. Would definately go back again...
