Papa Gigi's — Restaurant in England

recently ordered a pizza and chips from Papa Gigi. While the delivery was made within the expected timeframe, the quality of the food and the service left much to be desired.

When we opened the order, the portion of chips was extremely disappointing — served in a foil container that was less than half full and cold. Unfortunately, the pizza and the complimentary garlic cheese mushrooms were also cold.

I called the restaurant to raise my concerns about the chips, and was told by the staff member that they were aware of the issue, as they were running out of chips. He said he intended to inform the delivery driver to pass the message on but didn’t as he a few more orders coming in. While I understand that mistakes happen, it would have been much more helpful — and respectful — to let us know at the time of ordering that chips weren’t available. We could have made other arrangements instead of receiving an incomplete, cold meal.

In the end, we had to cook frozen chips ourselves and eat them after finishing the now-cold pizza. It’s frustrating that the restaurant knowingly sent out substandard portions without any communication. Although cold, the pizza was flavoursome.

I hope Papa Gigi takes this feedback seriously and improves both their food quality control and communication with customers...

Disappointing Experience Despite Tasty Pizza

Ordered via Just Eat. We’ve had a few pizzas recently round at friends’ houses and decided to try Papa Gigi’s again, having had one last week that was lovely. The pizza this time was also very good — no complaints there.

However, the portion size of the chips was ridiculous — barely enough for one person. My wife called to ask about it and was told, “Yeah, I can explain, we’re running out.” No apology, no explanation up front — just a shrug of the shoulders.

Customer service was pretty much non-existent. Ideally, they should’ve contacted us before the order went out, or offered an alternative. Instead, they just told us to deal with it via Just Eat. Thankfully, Just Eat refunded the chips.

I used to love Papa Gigi’s back in the late ’80s and ’90s and didn’t even realise it was still open — but sadly, after this experience, I won’t...

Italian pizza? SHAME ON YOU!!!!!!!While eating I realised that dough is extremely under cooked, basically the pizza with RAW DOUGH. Me, my pregnant friend and our daughters were eating it before realised!!!!! I threw it away and rang them to complain, they told me that they’ll make again. I didn’t even wanted another nasty pizza but they were not willing to give my money back. Once driver came he told me he wants the pizza back, it was in the bin already, so he told me to take it out!! as he will not give us the new ones lol. I asked to show me what he brought and it was burned as hell on the edges, so nasty. We didn’t even wanted to eat from there anymore 🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢 my first and defo last order.
