Parsons Bakery — Restaurant in England

PARSONS BAKERY CHEDDAR Have been calling here for a long time as we drive through Cheddar, rolls nicely filled, some cakes lovely, not cheap ingrediencies. HOWEVER, was really disappointed last week when in a rush my sister didnt ask for the meal-deal and ended up paying over the odds for the combination of purchases, cakes/rolls etc and her £15 ish was not well spent to best value. The assistant didnt highlight it to her at the time, and it was only when she returned to the car and I asked for the drink she said she had forgotten to purchase our take-out lunch with the 'meal-deal'. She returned but the assistant wouldn't amend the purchase or allow us to add to the drink option etc. Seemed a bit mean to be honest, the serving assistants are there to help customers after all, and it would have been nice if my sister's 'mistake' or a reminder of the meal deal option had been made. When my sister returned the lady wasnt very pleasant so we shall not call in again. It doesnt take much to ruin good...

Always use this bakery and always had excellent service from very friendly staff. But unfortunately today was the worst experience ever had to wait for the stuff to come out the oven which was OK didn't mind this at all. But what I did mind was having to wait over 10 mins to be served while one person was making sandwiches again not a problem. The problem was the the other behind till service person as instead of serving me and the growing queue that was going out of the shop and around the corner she was breaking up cardboard boxes and placing what looked like paper sheets over bread rolls all this could have been done when the shop was quiet and not making people wait to be served. In the past month I've bought 2 undercooked sausage rolls and today called ahead to order a "sausage sandwich on thin bread with a very little bit of ketchup spread on one side of the bread".

When collected they had applied what looked like 2 dessert spoons of ketchup and the sandwich was so wet with it I had to it throw away. This is the second time it's happened in the last couple of months. I was going to take a picture of it, but it made me feel sick just looking at it.

The ladies that work there could also do with a lesson in how to be friendly and smile...if you can't in a service industry you should look for something else to do.
