Absolutely delicious feast and despite it being lunchtime on a sunny weekend day, and only 10 mins from the packed tourist traps at the bottom of the Gorge, it wasn’t too busy at all. Absolutely hidden gem! Very friendly and helpful staff. Super tasty home-baked treats. The salads were all varied and really flavoursome.

Best cooked breakfast around. We used to visit another main Street café but this exceeds them in every way. The cafe is quaint and offers great service with a cosy atmosphere. Have visited on quite a few occasions and am now a regular.

Great little cafe, breakfast was excellent, cakes and pastries looked amazing too! Food and drinks were served quickly, tasted good and hit the spot! Would recommend and return!

Not great…Overpriced Small Portions ! We were a party of four adults for lunch but first we ordered three coffees and a pot of tea for one. The tea was very nice but we had to ask for milk. My coffee (flat white) was served in a small mug that was half the size of an average one and not very hot either. However, we decided to have another round before ordering food and this time I asked for a larger mug, I got one…but again the coffee wasn’t particularly hot, by this time it was getting busy with customers so we didn’t say anything at the time. (The coffee is a very nice blend by the way) When we were ready we placed our food order, two of us ordered the Full English Breakfast priced at £9:95 each. When the food came the breakfasts looked no bigger than child portions and I can honestly say I have never in all my life seen such small hens eggs…Diddy ! Sadly, the singular egg we had each had been cooked on too high a temperature and were consequently crispy around the edges , one sausage each (not the best) one rasher of bacon, a small dish of beans, small hash browns not much bigger than a £2 coin, and what looked for all the world like one mushroom sliced very thinly…plus a very thin slice of toast (Cheap Commercial Bread ?) Outrageous for the prices you are charging ! Bakery is in your business title but…Where is the fresh ‘bakery’ bread ? We had to ask for butter, it arrived as individual tiny foiled portions…barely adequate. (You do state on the menu, that extra items can be added ie: Egg, Bacon, Sausage, Toast etc at a cost of £1:65 per item) Seriously ? £1:65 for an extra slice of poor quality thin toast ? The meals you are offering are both lacking somewhat in quality and definitely not good value for money. Another of us had the Welsh Rarebit, We all agreed that it was also very over priced for the portion size and pretty underwhelming too. It got very busy with adults and children alike while we were with you. So upon leaving and after paying our bill we felt less inclined to lodge our complaints with you at the time as it did not seem appropriate due to the amount of customers you were dealing with. (Hence this review.) All in all we had a very disappointing first visit and not a particularly good experience, but a memorable one for all the wrong reasons. I ran my own very successful business for more than 22 years and I always made it clear to all employees that no customer should ever leave unhappy as complacency is the quickest route to failure. So, I would therefore urge you as the owners to adjust your portion control and quality of product as soon as possible. Competition is fearce. You need to up your game…You’ll reap the rewards if you can get it right. Please your customers and they will hopefully tell a friend, displease them and they’ll...

This place looked promising from the outside but sadly it was lacking in everything you’d expect from a good cafe. The staff weren’t rude but just couldn’t be bothered to even make eye contact when ordering at the counter & made it seem like they just wanted to close up for the day even though it was only lunchtime. The cafe itself is very dark & lacking any type of atmosphere which would be ok if the food was exceptional, but it’s overpriced for what you get & it’s of a basic quality. The thing that really let it down though was the toilet!! I have honestly Never seen such a badly maintained toilet In a food establishment. The decor is like something you’d find in a public toilet & it needed a really good clean. Despite the loo being inside it felt like you were outside it was so rustic. I wouldn’t have minded if it had been clean, but it was not a pleasant experience. We definitely wouldn’t return to this cafe as a lot of change is needed to bring it up...

Was looking forward to coming here for breakfast after a recommendation. However the whole experience was disappointing to say the least . Ordered smoked salmon with cream cheese on toasted sourdough, arrived as a bit of white (not toasted) baguette. Queried why it wasn’t sourdough, the server wasn’t sure and had to check , came back with ‘we ran out’. Not sure why we couldn’t have been told this at point of ordering (as wouldn’t have ordered it), plus was charged the same price. Friend ordered veggie breakfast, had nearly finished it and toast not arrived, was told it is on its way then had to ask for a second time when it didn’t arrive. The small breakfast arrived as three small items on a plate. The beans and toast did not arrive until chased up. All in all a really poor show / seemed rather disorganised . Will not...
