Peri Peri Original-Southend — Restaurant in England

Estimated delivery time was 2120hrs to 2140hrs. However, food still hadnt arrived even at 2200hrs. 19missed calls to restaurant but no answer.

Received call from driver at 2211hrs saying he is 2miles away and asked to share my location and I reluctantly did, despite he saying he has my postcode. Approximately 10mins later, I called the driver to ask him why he is driving further away, he responded there are diversions and the road are too dark and he is afraid to drive thru the small roads. Asked him for the road he was on and he responded I don't know.

After few more phone calls and WhatsApp msges, at 2237hrs, I informed him that we have request for a refund. He then called me again, and I told him I have left my house to get food and I am cancelling the delivery.

Despite, receiving this msg, he insisted he is outside my property at 2250hrs. I reiterated that I had cancelled the order and have headed out to get dinner but he hung around til 2254hrs telling me he is outside my property.He then hung through items over the letterbox.

Next day, I received a msg from just eat saying the restaurant is not going to refund the money and are conveying their apologies.

I was also charged £3.49 for delivery and the driver had been driving around with my food for more than 40mins. Milkshakes, chips and chicken all went to the bin. Food order confirmation was 1950hrs. Driver arrived at mine at 2250hrs when I had clearly told him I am cancelling the order as it is too late and i am heading out to buy my dinner.

Didn't want to send a bad review but forcing me to eat cold food and soggy chips and drink warm milkshakes. And refusing a refund? That is disgusting!

This is totally unacceptable and...

I ordered £30 worth of food however the order never turned up. We live in a basement flat which was clearly stated when we ordered. The food got delivered to our upstairs neighbours, when our neighbours did not answer the door the delivery driver just left the food outside their flat without even attempting to call me. An absolute joke! I called the restaurant in regards to getting a refund and they refused, the customer service of this place is appalling. The person I spoke to on the phone was extremely rude and said they’d call me back after they spoke to their manager. They never called me back and I had to call back, they kept saying they took a picture of the food outside my flat but it was my neighbours door they took a picture of. Will never go back to this place, I am disgusted with the customer service here. Don’t go here if you want appalling...

This place is disgusting. I will never again order from here. The man serving my partner was having a full on domestic with his wife in the shop, rude. The food itself was hanging. Piri piri my arse. Chk was just saturated in a tasteless spicy mayo. I asked for salad in my chk pitta n got 3 slimy small square of lettuce. For some reason known only to them they put processed cheese in my chk pitta which was so soggy it made me feel sick. The rice was biriyani flavour n dry n horrible. If I'd wanted indian takeaway I wood of ordered a indian. No coleslaw available. This place should be shut down. They are clueless.
