We hadn't visited for ages, but my daughter wanted to eat at Spaghetti Junction over this, her 18th birthday weekend, as she loves pizza! Whenever we go, we always get a friendly welcome and everyone is very helpful. The menu is split into sections with either set prices, or the al a carte menu, and there's a blackboard on the wall with the chef's specials. We chose the 'starter and pizza or pasta' option, but you can also choose the 'main course and dessert ' option. Both these options are just under £16 per person and the portions are huge, so it's excellent value and of course you can still order dessert you want. The starters were delicious and I struggled to finish mine as the portion was so generous....Next time I will leave more room! My daughter and her boyfriend chose different pizzas so they could share...the chicken topping on one was especially impressive, lovely large pieces generously spread over the whole pizza! I chose a pasta dish and you can choose between spaghetti, penne or tagliatelle when you order. None of us had room to finish it all, but the staff offered to pack the leftovers, so we took the remaining pizza home for them to finish later. There's a good drinks menu that includes basic wine such as Liebfraumilch up to more expensive options of red, white and rose, several lagers and soft drinks, I had a pint of lager which was under a fiver which is a good price these days in a restaurant. Altogether, if you are on a budget but still want good quality freshly prepared food, this restaurant is a great choice, and if money is no object, there are lots of wonderful dishes to choose. We've decided to make it a regular treat so we can try the other dishes, I'm looking...
Read moreWe come here after seeing all the reviews, and receiving good recommendations from friends. I booked this restaurant for my partners birthday, we ordered garlic bread and cheesy garlic bread to start which was nice. We then had the spaghetti meatballs, margarita pizza, and spaghetti bolognaise. Upon arrival it looked delicious all covered in cheese! Dug in and was immediately disappointed. I don’t know what them meatballs are but Jesus take the wheel, when I say they was vile I mean it. It is very clear they do not make the meatballs in house, they were all the same size and shape so clearly bought frozen. Everything with them was awful, The taste, the texture… my daughter said the pizza was nice. My mother had the bolognaise she pretty much left the whole meal, it was swimming in pasta water and the meat was very sparse. We each had a dessert which we were hoping would save the experience but in all honesty it just added to it. The banana split was old, and the tiramisu had no coffee flavour, nor did the ice cream. Such a shame, £80 just went down the drain. I will not be returning and I do not recommend this establishment. I understand people may think there is “always one” but trust me, book somewhere else. Sorry spaghetti Junction, this place is a no go for me...
Read moreWe have been meaning to try this restaurant for over 30 years, tonight we finally dined here and we now wished we hadn't. Decor is very basic and tables are close together. The table decor was non existent, no pretty flower or candle to make it romantic. No bread roll and butter which most restaurants I have been to have provided. We chose the 3 course set menu for £23.95 maybe that was our mistake or maybe not. My chilli prawns were ok and the right quantity. My chicken in white wine sauce had the bacon missing and the asparagus had the tips missing, lots of mushrooms and the chicken was over cooked. The sauce had a strange powdery taste and was very bland. The sauted potatoes were anemic and tasted of the oil they were cooked in. The pastry of the Apple pie was soft making me think it had been microwaved and tasted like cheap supermarket Apple pie. The staff were friendly and service was good but sorry we will not...
