We are seasoned pizza express diners and know exactly the normal sort of service and food standard to expect. Our experience at the Cribbs Causeway Pizza Express was without a doubt our worst dining experience ever and fell way short of the standard Pizza Express norm.
Our table wasn’t ready on arrival - not a problem - it was busy so we waited. We were then seated and our order taken - it took almost an hour later for our food to arrive. This was only the first 2 meals and 4 other members of our party were still waiting for food. 10 minutes later we received three more meals however my Husbands pasta had a hair in it so we spoke to the wait staff. One of the servers was great and really helpful the others couldn’t seem to be bothered and one even smirked at our party when we complained about our experience. Wed now been in the restaurant 1 hour 15 minutes and one of our party had still not received their food. This finally arrived and after one bite a hair was found in this dish too. The manager was asked for, the smirking waiter seemed to want to start a fight and had to be told by both the manager and myself to head away from our table. The manager did waive the cost of our meal but considering 2 were completely inedible, another was basically just tomato sauce and the others arriving almost 30 minutes apart I felt like it was the least they could do. All in all a terrible experience which is a shame as we often frequent Bristol and Pizza Express is usually a consistent family...
Read moreAmazing staff conquer chain restaurant cliche. We originally visited during a very busy night in September. It was abnormally busy due to a promotion voucher running out at the end of the week, we had cinema tickets booked and made the waiter aware of this. He spent no time in getting us to a table and we felt very welcome. Orders were placed promptly and we were assured that we would receive our meals in good time. However, as we sat sipping the lovely Montepulciano and que was forming out the door. It's fair to say the restaurant was heaving and so our food order was delayed.
I came to our showtime and we spoke with the manager to say we have to leave but will return after the film. He was thankful for the suggestion and we continued on our way.
The film finished a lot later than expected and we arrived back at the restaurant around 10.15pm, too tired to eat. The manager explained how his evening panned out and we had a good laugh. He issued us with a free meal for being understanding and to replace thw voucher we had.
We visited this week (Jan) in order to use the voucher and the service was once again impeccable. Both the waiter and manager were attentive and relaxed. A truly wonderful evening, that felt we could easily be in a high class restaurant and walk out into Milian, or Santiago. Certainly not Cribbs Causeway car park.
Well done Pizza...
Read moreI came out for a meal with friends to catch up. We were greeted by a friendly girl who took us to our table. They gave us plenty of time to choose what we wanted to eat, checking on us every couple of minutes to see if we were ready to order. My mum had a couple of questions about the dishes on the menu and the kind waitress was super helpful and offered lots of information and also personal opinion on some of the meals on offer. The food came out quickly and we all enjoyed our meals. The food was delicious, hands down the best mozzarella sticks i’ve ever had and also the pizza was to die for. During our meal there was another couple in the restaurant who were really rude and verbally abusive towards the kind waitress. The supervisor on shift was very quick to ask the customers to leave and handled the situation with care. Coming over to our table to ensure we were okay and to apologise about the commotion. Regardless, the food and customer service was excellent, we will definitely be back again! Thanks so much again to Elona our lovely waitress and Sophie the supervisor for handling the situation so calmly and with consideration!...
