Omg, you want every smaller station to have a small cozy bar like this. Peaceful, welcoming, good coffee/ tea and a few beers of course so something for all. You can forget about the rush for trains here and just relax in good company- perfect

A lovely, warm welcome today at The Platform Bar. It's a small but comfortable space, community-oriented plus plenty of train and beer related curios. The cake looked seriously delicious (would have sampled if I weren't gluten intolerant) and a good variety of snacks. A great selection of cask ales and a very nice cider available. The lovely lady behind the bar gave me the last of the cider box as an extra treat! Felt very welcome and...

Great little café on Platform 2 at Hexham train station (on the Tyndale Line) - open to customers other than those using the station and trains

I was able to buy things to takeaway for my long journey9just let them know that this is you plan to do this

It was busy when I went (a Thursday in March) You do not need to be a passenger to sue...

Made to feel unwelcome, only allowed in ‘if you buy something’ Just wanted to wait for the train as the waiting rooms were locked. Some miserable old man sat at the bar the whole time made it nice and uncomfortable and awkward asking when my train was basically wanting me to leave. Really...
