Ploy Thai Restaurant — Restaurant in England

We were seated by a delightful Thai waitress who promptly took our drink orders. While reviewing the menu, we learned that, except for one serving, they were out of chicken dishes. While the waitress was apologetic, we couldn't hide our disappointment. Since the four of us had hoped to order various chicken menu options, following a discussion amongst ourselves, we felt we wouldn't receive our desired meals and decided to leave as the alternatives weren't what we would have enjoyed.

I am giving this review a rare 2 star rating because we had booked well in advance and were looking forward to a special family celebratory meal here. We left £15 out of pocket without even lifting a fork. Instead of taking responsibility for their own shortcomings, Ploy Thai attempted to blame guests on another table for their large order of chicken dishes rather than themselves directly for their insufficient stock management.  Furthermore, they could have easily visited the nearby Tesco store, which was still open, as they had enough staff to briefly manage this, given the time staff spent conversing amongst themselves in the reception area. Moreover, a £1 discount on drinks, which the restaurant knew we would not have ordered in retrospect, demonstrated a lack of genuine concern or empathy for the nuisance to us having to find another restaurant to dine at very late notice. Excellent authentic Thai food!!

First and foremost, the friendly service as every other reviewers have commented is spot on. Attentive and polite. An eatery is nothing just for the great service, we can say the food is excellent and highly recommend any dishes served with the fresh meaty prawns.

I had the Tom Yum soup, full of flavour and excellent herbs and spices. The prawns and squid are very fresh. You can tell by the firmness of the big prawns and the nice crunch to the sweet squid.

The mix starters are excellent choices if you want to try a bit of everything, and they are off good portion size as well.

Our eyes must have been bigger than our stomachs, no matter how tasty the food was, we couldn't finish everything (we did order a lot!! 😁😁), And ended up taking some home. We've been eating out a lot, the prices here are good value considering the amount and the quality they served.

This is a definite must go to place if you're into excellent, tasty and authentic Thai food. We'll definitely be back on our next visit to Falmouth.

Stopped in here on the off chance without booking and managed to get the last available table. We weren't disappointed. Although the restaurant lacked a little ambience downstairs (we didn't see it upstairs), the service was friendly and when the food came it was simply amazing. My wife ordered ribs to start. Less of a starter more of a main meal so beware when ordering. My soup with mushrooms not only was full of incredible flavour, but was so full of mushrooms That too was almost a meal in itself. We had a Pad Thai and a main course to share which was more than enough after our filling starters. All the flavours were out of this world and if I closed my eyes, I might have been in heaven. If ratings are for food and service then this restaurant deserves the full accolade. if it's ambience and sophistication you want then it may not be for you but it would be hard to better the flavours you're likely to experience here.
