I have eaten here 2 or 3 times now and have just booked again for my birthday this week. The first thing I need to say is; check out their website because they usually offer "buy one main meal and get another for £1", so you could get a 2 course meal for £10 per head with a drink each.
Next is the food, it's absolutely GORGEOUS, even something as simple as the garlic bread is divine. I've known restaurants to serve up garlic bread they could have easily bought from a supermarket, yet Prego's looks handmade and melts in the mouth (if garlic bread has this ability?!).
I usually order a lovely chicken dish, I think it's been cooked in white wine and comes with new potatoes and green beans. It's rare for me to find a white wine/chicken dish that doesn't include those horrible slimy tasteless things (aka mushrooms).
My other half has ordered the calazoni, which is like a plate sized Cornish pasty but has the filling of a meat feast pizza; meatballs, cheese, onions etc. This dish has him salivating for more but due to its size he can only handle one.
The staff are all friendly, cheerful, helpful and polite, they don't rush you to order, can recommend from the menu and look like they enjoy working there.
I don't understand how some customers have left a negative review, but then each to their own. I haven't been to a 5 star fancy restaurant with gold cutlery and my very own waiter, I'm used to friendly homely places that I want to go back to again and again (and can afford to...
Read moreWe were at silverstone for the day and decided to stay over and have some food. I had looked at the comments from previous diners and thought we would give it a go as it seemed very highly rated. I will begin that I am Italian and this food has nothing to do with a normal Italian restaurant. The calmarmi were deep fried and were of very poor quality. They wasn’t fresh and not to sure where they got them from but were awful. If you check the pictures and you have had fresh calmarmi you will know what I mean. The pizza wasn’t at all made with fresh dough as it was a perfect round shape so this also was a pre-made base and the toppings were no better. No fresh mozzarella or anything else to be fair. Again check the foto’s I put the pizza upright and nothing came off it. It was all stuck together and I’ve personally had better frozen Gino pizzas than that. I thought it was also expensive for the quality they gave . Not Italian owned and it shows Very poor and wouldn’t...
Read morePrego has completely won me over! It’s become a firm favourite Italian restaurant.
The atmosphere at Prego is simply fantastic, modern , clean, a light fresh feel with the most attentive and welcoming staff, who are passionate about what they’re serving. Prego offers both inside and outside dining; both areas providing a high class dining feel whilst keeping a warm and homely atmosphere.
I had the Gamberoni, which I would certainly recommend for seafood lovers who also love a little kick! Without mentioning the rest of the menu that is just as impressive!
Prego is a wonderful restaurant in a beautiful location— it’s a little slice of Italy! Highly recommend it to anyone who appreciates top-tier Italian food and great hospitality.
Five stars without hesitation! Grazie, Prego Will definitely be returning when next...
