I am a student at the university of Buckingham and find myself struggling with the program structure. If anyone is looking to come to this university PLEASE DONT ! no tutor is going to look at your coursework before submission you only get 10 min chat only ! the amount of tuition fee you pay you do not get your moneys worth. As a student i have to wait to get a bad grade to hear feedback as i was told in a 10 minute slot my work cannot be read and this CONTRIBUTES TO MY DEGREE ! They also make you work for you tutorial mark ! this term i missed the moodle message and have been penalized for not getting a mark (INSPITE OF ATTENDING EVERYTHING) and no consideration of the tight deadlines , stress and pressure we face because during such intense times no one is looking at moodle and we are busy booking our drop in slot preparing for submission and students missed their mark just because they did not check their moodle even though they were told its the last tutorial so no one thought to check BUT THEY PENALISED US AND MADE US LOOSE A MARK ! this university is not interested in helping you pass and develop. When teachers make mistake its covered but when a student misses an information they are penalized and its shocked me how they treat their students. with no support no leaving us little time to manage.
When we start the term by the time teachers give us guidance for coursework we are left with less than 6 weeks to write essays, reports, collect data and submit. It is time this matter is taken further even on media , higher education department , QAA how poorly students are treated , rushed and robbed ! It shocks me i pay tuition fee and only get a 10 minute chat and no one to look through my coursework , NO other university does this they look at draft pieces of work and spend time on coursework so students are guided correctly, At Buckingham teachers are vague and misguide you then blame you for it. Please avid this university they will make you question your own ability, the course structure is chaotic , no one listens to students and your are jus forced to get...
Read moreIt is a shame the University of Buckingham has such poor reviews on here. My experience of the university was very good. My lecturers were incredibly knowledgeable, passionate, and approachable. Their enthusiasm went as far as to foster my own passion for areas of my subject I didn’t particularly care for in the beginning, making the whole course an enjoyable experience - not just parts of it. Throughout the course there were many visits and trips, which broke up the monotony of classroom study. Besides the excellent teaching, when it came to personal issues, which greatly disrupted my personal life as well as my studies, I was completely and fully supported by my department and the university as a whole. For nearly 6 years they looked after me and did everything possible to see me through to the end of my degree. And that was not just one person, it was many different people who helped me. I have read through reviews saying Buckingham isn’t a ‘Russel Group’ university. But seriously. Once you’ve have your degree, it doesn’t matter. My degree from Buckingham has not stopped me from being offered a place to continue my post grad at a super good university. So, if you are considering going to Buckingham, then I would highly...
