Absolutely terrible. So, we arrived, 4 of us well before the dinner rush. We weren’t greeted and sat waiting outside for so long we got up and went inside to order our own drinks from the bar we’d got so fed up. We were ushered back outside where a waiter finally took our drinks orders. We got our drinks and decided to Treat ourselves to starters. The prawns and the meatballs, I was expecting tasty starters to start off our evening, eating out is a treat. Anyway, when our starters arrived I couldn’t help but stare in shock at what was put in front of us. The prawns were defrosted supermarket prawns in a runny very cheap tomato sauce, so disgusting I couldn’t finish it. Vile. My friend ordered the Italian meatballs, what was served were 2... yes 2 tiny, grey meatballs with the same cheap bland tomato sauce chucked over the top. We paid nearly £7 for each. Extremely disappointed, we waited a long while for our mains ( 2 pizzas ) and 2 kids spaghetti bolognaise , well, the disappointment continued. On the pizzas there was the THINNEST spreading of cheap tomato sauce and barely any cheese, it was so thin and bland it was like eating tasteless cardboard. The kids meals were like a basic ready meal, flavourless bland un exciting . Everything including the drinks was EXTREMELY overpriced. Some staff members were polite, others not at all. We got the bill and looked at each other in disbelief that we’d worked hard for money that we felt we were literally throwing in the bin. We’re not ones to complain and it was meant to be a nice evening out with the kids. It was absolutely terrible and I shall never go back. Could of saved £65 and had a dominos which, frankly wins hands down on that absolutely...
Read moreFrom the moment of our arrival at Prezzo, we were enveloped in an ambiance of cultivated sophistication and gastronomic promise. The establishment radiates an atmosphere of genteel refinement, harmoniously blending contemporary aesthetics with traditional Italian warmth.
Our culinary sojourn was immeasurably enhanced by the consummate professionalism and attentiveness of our waiter, the estimable Alex P. His encyclopaedic knowledge of the menu, coupled with an almost preternatural intuition for anticipatory service, elevated the entire experience to an echelon of distinction seldom encountered in casual dining establishments.
The gastronomic offerings were nothing short of extraordinary. Each course was a paragon of culinary artistry — meticulously presented, exquisitely seasoned, and redolent with the authentic flavours of Italy. The calamari fritti achieved an optimal balance of crispness and tenderness, while the spaghetti gamberoni was a masterclass in harmonious flavour composition, with each prawn embodying succulence and finesse.
Alex P. orchestrated our dining journey with an air of quiet authority and affable charm, rendering our evening not merely a meal, but an indelible experience. His courteous manner, articulate recommendations, and unwavering dedication to excellence embody the very zenith of hospitality.
In summation, Prezzo is a veritable sanctuary for the discerning epicurean. I would proffer the highest commendation and unreservedly recommend it to those in pursuit of culinary brilliance and...
Read moreMy wife and I always look forward to dining at Pressos, especially the one in Reading Berkshire. Three times we used the one in Street and always been disappointed. On thev7th April 24 we went in an ordered our meal, two starters and two main courses. Eventually after a long wait, and they weren’t that busy, one starter arrived, I said where’s the other one, off the waitress went to get another one. We had ordered Garlic bread with balsamic onions and mozzarella. It looked like a piece of pizza bread and in the middle you could just about make out some cheese with about half a teaspoon of onions, all that was in the middle of the bread with nothing on the edges. When our main course came, my wife had ordered chicken caesar salad, it looked like a bunch of greenery put on the plate with a couple of slices of cucumber and about half of a chicken breast with slices of lemon. She ate the chicken and left the rest. I had ordered chicken prosciutto and sage with saltimbocco, there wasn’t much of it but it tasted ok. We just paid and left, we won’t be using that...
