We visited this restaurant after spending most of the day at a car meet-up at Grantley Hall, having travelled from London. I had done some research beforehand and chose this spot based on the strong reviews—and for the most part, it lived up to the hype.
Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed by our waiter Olivia, who was friendly, attentive, and really made us feel looked after throughout the evening.
With big appetites, we kicked off with three starters: Pork skewers – Small portions and the meat lacked standout flavour. I wouldn’t recommend this dish. Calamari – Unfortunately, this was quite tough. The batter was thin and underwhelming in taste. Meatballs – Nicely flavoured and enjoyable, though again, the portion size was on the smaller side.
While the starters didn’t quite meet our expectations, things took a dramatic turn for the better with the main course.
I ordered the lasagna, which Olivia had confidently recommended—and it absolutely delivered. It was piping hot, with a perfect crispy exterior and a soft, rich interior. Every bite was packed with flavour and clearly prepared with care. Hands down, the best lasagna I’ve had in a long time—highly recommended!
For dessert, I went with the Baileys chocolate ganache, and it was another winner—smooth, indulgent, and perfectly balanced in flavour.
Service from Olivia was top-notch—genuinely one of the highlights of the evening.
Final thoughts: Skip the starters and go straight for the mains and desserts. The lasagna alone is worth the visit. A lovely experience overall.

Read moreWe'd booked a table for 4, but 2 people dropped out last minute. The service was quick and very friendly. We had a good bit of banter with one of the male staff, who also helped my partner pick a main (as he wasn't sure which one to get, so many good options). Portions are huge, which I suppose isn't strange for an Italian restaurant.
I just can't seem to eat as much as I used to be able to, so I only ate half of my pizza. Luckily, they're very happy to give you the rest wrapped in tin foil and in a plastic bag to take home!
We shared a starter (the Pizza al Pesto), both had a main (Pizza Spagnola and pizza Margherita) and both had two drinks (2x Kopparberg and 2x Gradisca beer). Our total for food came to just under £24 and drinks came to £15. We tipped about 15%, as the service was fast, friendly and good, and the food was very good and exactly what we'd been hoping for.

Read moreWe had a mixed experience here. There were lots of positives: the food was great, the service was generally very good, and we got a lot of help with our four-year-old (his food was brought first, etc). Sadly these came after a really poor first impression. The restaurant is labelled family friendly and we arrived with a pram. We were met by an unfriendly and unhelpful member of staff who took us past vacant tables on the ground floor to a table at the back of the restaurant, up two short flights of stairs. She did not warn us that there were stairs or offer any help, and we disturbed other diners as we squeezed past. It was all a bit embarrassing and not very welcoming. Happily we were then served by someone very capable who rescued our evening. Overall, there is a lot to recommend this restaurant but personally I would hesitate before taking my family there again,...
