A main course dinner served on a chipped plate when raised she just called it a mistake. She didn't even apologise and this is what got me the most!

How could the chief miss this for a restaurant it's a 100% a no, no especially with the viruses around.

It was totally embarrassing, as we'd taken a guest to eat there, it didn't look good, and was a 100% embarrassing experience.

We did return to give the place the benefit of the doubt, to be told we were barred due to complaining about the chipped plate.

I read another review where the actual mgr has said it was because the wife's menopause, when she saw me her eyes almost popped out of her head and so she sent the husband through to kick us out?? ..lol.. honestly what behaviour is that, with a landlady like this im glad i got barred.

So im leaving honest feedback, about the restaurant service and feel it is a very bad reflection upon Greenking who rent it to people who dont care.

I've travelled to Thailand several times 🇹🇭 and have never had my food served on a chipped or cracked plate aside from at this pub where they felt it was acceptable.

Seems if you complain, you're just barred and not even apologised too.

I had already paid my bill in full and hadn't asked for any money off. I just wanted to make them aware tbh.

Seems the 5 letter word was just to hard to say, this is not normal behaviour for restaurant owners.

In talking to my local neighbours about being banned, they're feedback was they also recieved poor service each time they went, last time they'd left them for an hour between the main course and dessert, then when they were ready for dessert the kitchen was already closed they hadn't asked did they want dessert or forewarned it was closing. I find this quiet shocking.

Others have said I'm sure they've forgotten they're in the :hospitality and restaurant service and they weren't that impressed, nor would dine there again.

I'd rather the Thai in Wokingham or Maidenhead or if wanting it delivered try market street Thia food it...

I used to enjoy the food from Prince of Wales, but my recent experiences have been nothing short of disappointing. Initially, I noticed that Deliveroo prices were much higher compared to picking up, and over time, their portion sizes kept getting smaller and smaller. Despite the decline in value, I didn't complain initially since I would only notice once I got home. However, on one occasion, I checked my order before leaving the restaurant and saw that the portions were embarrassingly small – barely filling half the container.

When I raised the issue, I was met with excuses and eventually a rude and defensive chef, who told me outright that if I didn’t like it, I shouldn’t come back. After a heated back and forth, they reluctantly agreed not to charge me for my starter, but I still paid full price for the main dish.

Months later (today), I gave them another chance, hoping for a better experience. Unfortunately, I was met with hostility from the staff as soon as I arrived. The same waiter I complained to months ago was there, and after a cold reception, he told me the chef refused to serve me food, offering drinks only. This was incredibly disrespectful and unprofessional.

If you value good customer service and fair portions, I highly recommend avoiding this place. They’re more interested in punishing customers who stand up for themselves than in offering a quality experience. Absolutely arrogant and disappointing business. Will never return.

(Continued) - Their reply is a complete LIE and adds to my point of their lack of accountability. They only offered me a discount ONCE and it was the day I complained about their portions. I have never been offered neither have I received free...

Went to the Prince of Wales pub for a friends Birthday meal on the 27th May. I will start with the good. The food was great. No complaints really. I will say, maybe the portion sizes need to be bigger. Not quite enough in my opinion.

Now for the bad! The service was awful. We was with a crowd of 11 and one member never received their food. We was ordering drinks from the bar, so less stress for them but they still made too many mistakes. We had to ask for service several time and to order the desserts and they didn't fully clean the tables between courses. The sticking rice came out in a tin foil parcel wrapped in cling film and was extremely small. The person who's food that was forgotten negotiated a % off the bill, but when paying, half of this person's food was on the bill (that we never received) and extra rice appeared on the bill. They also put on a service charge that we wasn't going to pay, as even the staff admitted to the service being awful. However when we refused to pay the service charge we was told to leave and all 11 was barred. No one made any unnecessary fuss or made a scene. This is very unfortunate as the food was lovely and I would...

A Mixed Experience We recently booked a table for 15 on a Friday evening. The atmosphere was pleasant, with a traditional pub feel on one side and a restaurant on the other. While the menu offered a good variety of choices, our dining experience was marred by a few unfortunate incidents. Upon ordering starters, mains, and sides, there was some confusion with the restaurant staff, leading to a delay in serving some of the starters. While the starters that did arrive were well-presented and tasty, the initial mix-up was frustrating. The main courses and sides were served without issue. However, the problems resurfaced when we paid the bill. Despite verifying the payment with a waiter, we later received a call from the manager claiming that the bill hadn't been fully settled. It turned out that one of our party's credit card payments hadn't been processed correctly, while the food was enjoyable the service inconsistencies and the billing issue left a negative impression. We hope that the restaurant can address these issues to ensure a more seamless dining experience for future guests.

When we arrived, we were pleased to see lots of Thai people in the car park, who'd just finished their meal. It's always a good indicator that people from that country eat in the restaurant. Absolutely wonderful food. Taste is very authentic and it is all home-made and very fresh. We all have different tastes when it comes to food, but we were all extremely happy with the food we ordered, and it was so good we all had 3 courses! I didn't take a photo of the savoury dishes but they were fantastic. Deserts beautifully presented. We also saw people at a nearby table who'd ordered the Sunday roast, and that also looked delicious. Atmosphere is friendly and unpretentious. It's nice that there's car parking available and it's close to the town centre. Highly recommended!

Not a lot of parking spaces at the location so you have to drive around the streets and find a place to park. It’s a pub that caters very good Thai food. God English atmosphere and the service is a bit slow but they have a person in their kitchen who knows how to cook Thai food. Staff are nice and polite . Prices are not too steep and we ordered some pad Thai and noodle dishes which were good. We were visiting from the USA and decided to try this place out. Go early evening if you want to find a parking space and it’s also less waiting time for food. Highly recommend the food and I do know my food as we have travelled the world extensively and we also cook to very high standards .
