My wife and I had a lovely meal here recently. It was our wedding anniversary, which she had told them and had asked for a quiet table.
We were delighted when we arrived to be greeted by our host with “Happy Anniversary” as soon as we gave our name. We were then led to a quiet table which had a vase of flowers on it - nice touch.
The staff were great: personable, knowledgeable and attentive. We didn’t get their names but our host was a very engaging chap with beard and a big smile (may have been David or Peter) and our server was a super young lady from Romania with whom we enjoyed chatting in her immaculate English and our three words of Romanian.
The food was very good too. Delicious, generous-sized pizzas, but more importantly, generously loaded, which is a much rarer thing. Our mushroom starter was probably the weakest-link, it was just a little bland and the bread base would have been better as a crisper toast. Our desserts were very good: I had lemon and blackcurrant cheesecake - again delicious - and my wife had simple ice-cream but it arrived on a large plate with the words “Happy Anniversary” hand-piped in edible gold fondant, another nice touch.
We topped the meal off with two large glasses of red and as we left, I said to my wife, “what a really nice experience that was”. She agreed and we thought how rare it is these days to think that - especially if a high street chain.
Very well done Zizzi Bracknell...
Read moreThe staff were lovely and the atmosphere was really good but the kitchen was just bad. Nothing worse than waiting an hour for mains and then the food isn’t even nice. I ordered a pizza with extra toppings (as it says you can do on the menu) but for some reason the kitchen decided to make me a different pizza with similar toppings. The waitress brought it over to me and said that the kitchen for some reason made a different one and confirmed the pizza I actually wanted. About 2 minutes later ‘my’ pizza came out to me. It was obvious this was a margherita they had already cooked and just chucked my toppings on it. The toppings weren’t cooked in and the pizza was a bit cold/ obviously not freshly cooked. Plus the fact it came out in 2 minutes was obvious they hadn’t made mine fresh. Was really disappointing as it wasn’t my fault they made the wrong pizza nor the waitresses fault, yet I had to deal with eating and paying for a subpar pizza. It also meant I didn’t tip which I felt really bad for because the waitress was lovely but £15 for the bad pizza was enough for me lol. Everyone else’s food seemed okay so if you need adjustments for dietary requirements/preferences then I...
Read moreWent here with my Wife and 11 year old son for an evening meal.
Food while it arrived hot and quickly was really very poor quality and all 3 of our dishes were fairly tasteless, which is very disappointing when you consider the price of eating here and how that compares to other restaurants in the area where the quality of food is much better.
The experience itself however was the worst part, we were seated and asked about drinks relatively quickly but after that trying to get the attention.of waiting staff was impossible I had to actively get up a couple of times in order to find someone to take an order, our waitress did appear briefly after we had ordered our drinks but quickly disappeared again and didn’t come back for the rest of the evening despite the restaurant not feeling overly busy and staff not really looking rushed.
Larger tables did seem to be attended extremely well (even when seemingly they were not even ordering) I wonder whether this has something to do with more opportunity to make larger tip ?
Luckily you can pay by app otherwise we might still...
